Job Description

This role involves designing, implementing, and testing software for DNA sequencing and genotyping instruments. Responsibilities include collaborating with Agile scrum teams, developing software architecture, and engaging in all stages of the Agile development process. The engineer will create and run unit tests, troubleshoot defects, and contribute to code reviews. Additional tasks may be assigned based on business needs. The work aims to advance genomic technology, contributing to health equity and impacting healthcare through early disease detection and innovative treatment options.
Must have:
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming, preferably C#.
  • Experience in designing and maintaining asynchronous .NET applications.
  • Proficiency in building services based on REST.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Self-driven with excellent communication abilities.
  • Experience with source control systems like GIT and SVN.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
Good to have:
  • Experience with front-end technologies/frameworks like Angular and React.
  • Experience in developing software for instruments and hardware integration.
  • Knowledge of biotech and bioinformatics.
  • Knowledge of Linux distributions, such as Oracle Linux and Ubuntu.
  • Experience in image processing.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Agile scrum teams to design, implement, and test the software that controls our cutting-edge DNA sequencing and genotyping instruments.
  • Develop software architecture, designs, and implementations that drive innovation.
  • Engage in all stages of the Agile development process, including sprint planning, daily scrums, and sprint demos.
  • Create and run unit tests to validate functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects promptly.
  • Contribute to software design and code reviews, ensuring the highest quality.

While these responsibilities are essential, additional tasks may be assigned as needed based on business requirements.

Required Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages, with a preference for C#.
  • Strong expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining asynchronous .NET applications.
  • Proficient in building services based on REST.
  • Experience with front-end technologies and/or front-end frameworks, such as Angular and React.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code that meets product requirements.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Self-driven with excellent communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated willingness to teach others and learn new technologies.
  • Capability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Passionate about technology and innovation.
  • Extensive experience in writing high-quality unit tests using mock objects.
  • Proficient in source control systems like GIT and SVN.
  • Experience with CI/CD practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience in cross-functional or inter-company collaboration.
  • Experience in developing software for instruments and hardware integration is a plus.
  • Knowledge of biotech and bioinformatics is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Linux distributions, such as Oracle Linux and Ubuntu, is a plus.
  • Experience in image processing is a plus.
