Zoox is seeking a Senior Wire Harness Engineer to design advanced wiring harness systems for autonomous vehicles. The role involves ensuring seamless communication between controllers, sensors, and subsystems, critical for vehicle safety and reliability. Responsibilities include shaping design guidelines, implementing best practices, and improving processes throughout the development lifecycle. The engineer will own end-to-end design of complex low-voltage and high-speed wiring harnesses using CATIA V5/V6, manage device transmittals, schematics, and 3D harness routing. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to define low-voltage distribution system requirements and leading supplier engagements are also key aspects. Must have:
- BS or MS in Engineering or equivalent degree
- 15 years of automotive/aerospace engineering experience
- Experience with automotive EE system-level communication (CAN, LIN)
- Experience with power distribution architectures
- Demonstrated release of hardware products with firmware/software dependencies
- Hardware and software integration experience
Good to have:
- Experience with Capital/Mentor Graphics Topology
- Experience with HarnessXC Bridging
- Experience with ISO26262
- Experience with EE HW reliability life calculations
- Experience with system FMEA analysis
- Experience with high-speed automotive electronics communication protocols (GMSL, automotive ethernet, A2B)

Job Details
As a Senior Wire Harness Engineer at Zoox, you’ll play a key role in designing one of the most advanced wiring harness systems ever built into a vehicle. Working within the highly collaborative Electrical Systems Team, you’ll help ensure seamless communication between controllers, sensors, and subsystems, critical for the safe and reliable operation of our autonomous vehicles. You’ll shape design guidelines, implement best practices, and drive process improvements across the full development lifecycle. This is an opportunity to help define the future of mobility and bring Zoox’s vision for autonomous transportation to life.
In this role, you will:
- Own the end-to-end design of complex low-voltage and high-speed wiring harnesses using CATIA V5/V6, ensuring quality, compliance, and manufacturability.
- Define and manage processes for device transmittals, schematics, and 3D harness routing across the product lifecycle.
- Develop best practices and provide technical guidance to junior engineers to continuously improve harness design methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define low-voltage distribution system requirements, endpoints and interfaces
- Lead supplier engagements and drive continuous improvement within the electrical engineering function
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Engineering or equivalent degree
- 15 years of automotive or aerospace engineering experience, with at least 2+ years of people management experience
- Experience with automotive EE system-level communication (CAN, LIN) and power distribution architectures
- Demonstrated release of hardware products with firmware/software dependencies
- Hardware and software integration experience
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with Capital/Mentor Graphics Topology, HarnessXC Bridging.
- Experience with ISO26262, EE HW reliability life calculations, and system FMEA analysis

$159,000 - $251,000 a year
Base Salary Range
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
