Job Description

We are seeking a suitably qualified candidate to support engineering activities related to through-life support contracts, in accordance with CAE’s engineering management system, as well as activities associated with upgrades and installations. The role will be located at our office in either Homebush, NSW or Brisbane, QLD.

Nature of Work

You’ll contribute to the development of advanced simulation systems used in aviation and defence training environments, helping to ensure realism, reliability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

As a Simulation Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a dynamic team of engineers to develop and maintain industry-leading simulation software. You will work closely with instructors, engineers, technical leaders, and project managers to ensure the successful delivery and deployment of high-quality software solutions.

Duties will include:

  • Investigating and resolving software defects
  • Designing, developing, and implementing simulation software solutions
  • Deploying and testing software products at customer sites
  • Monitoring tasks in relation to project budgets and timelines, and reporting any variances
  • Updating project status through stand-up meetings, JIRA, and other tools
  • Developing and maintaining detailed documentation throughout the software development process

We’re Looking for Someone Who Brings:

Our Ideal Candidate has:

  • 4 years of relevant experience
  • A graduate degree in an engineering discipline (such as Computer Systems, Mechatronics, Aeronautical, Electrical, Software, or similar)
  • Experience with one or more of the following programming languages:
                  C, C++, Fortran, Python, C#
  • Knowledge of aeronautical / aircraft systems, an advantage
  • Experience working with UNIX-type (such as Linux or AIX) Operating Systems.

Note: As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
