As a Social Marketing Manager for YouTube Marketing, you will shape and drive the brand social personality and communication for a culturally significant brand in a growing region. You will be responsible for go-to-market plans for social brand programs in South Korea, overseeing briefing, creative execution, managing approvals, and troubleshooting. You will be analyzing data, deepening brand engagement, and driving positive brand sentiment. The role is cross-functional and international, working with various teams. You will develop strategies, calendars, and plans, manage execution by briefing agencies, and measure performance. You will be part of the YouTube APAC Social Marketing Team and work closely with the Social Marketing lead for YouTube South Korea via Oliver.
Must have:
  • Experience in planning, executing, and optimizing social media content & campaigns.
  • Experience in working with content production houses and agencies
  • Experience working with influencers and creators
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills. Fluency in Korean language.
  • Understanding of YouTube’s ecosystem (user, creator, advertiser)
  • Brand management experience / creative agency experience
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with user brand research, with strong data comprehension skills.

Location: Seoul, South Korea

 

About the role:

As Social Marketing Manager for YouTube Marketing , you will be shaping and driving the brand social personality and communication of one of the most culturally significant brands of our times in a dynamic and growing region.

You should have experience driving social strategies and campaigns that have created impact on marketing and business goals. You will be responsible for the go-to-market plans for these social brand programs in South Korea - overseeing briefing, creative execution, managing approvals and troubleshooting issues, launches and results. You are as obsessed about what excites our audiences on social media and our follower communities as you are about what our products can do for them. You are a constant advocate for our users and creators – your ideas are always deeply rooted in what they care about and what delights them. You have deep analytical expertise and experience setting up processes to escalate potential brand risks and respond swiftly and thoughtfully to topics that are important to our users. And you look at social as a way to deepen our connection with communities, relying on data for insights that will drive measurable results.

The role is cross-functional and international - you’ll work with local, regional (APAC) and global YouTube product marketing managers as well as local XFN teams (e.g. partnerships, legal, comms, policy). You’ll deepen brand engagement, elevate our social presence, drive positive brand sentiment and engagements, and provide frequent and clear analysis to management allowing the organization to develop a strong grassroots understanding of what our users and creators care about. Beyond building impactful social and influencer marketing strategies that bring the brand to life across social channels, you’ll also work with the regional social marketing team on including proactive and reactive social listening. You will be a part of the YouTube APAC Social Marketing Team and will work closely with the Social Marketing lead for YouTube South Korea via Oliver. 

 

What you will be doing:  

  • Project management and support the team the strategies, planning, agency briefing, GTM, execution and measurement  of YouTube South Korea’s social and brand projects and campaigns with a social first lens. 
  • Develop strategies, calendars and GTMs plans for specific campaigns. Work with internal teams and stakeholders to align on directions and OKRs while ensuring all plans are aligned with YouTube’s brand mission and strategy.
  • Project Manage the execution of the same by briefing agencies and ensuring smooth and timely execution of the campaign.
  • Performance measurement and post mortems of campaigns to inform stakeholders and future plans.
  • Support FTE in compliance with regards to the SOWs, POS and invoices of external agency partners.

 

What you will need to be great in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in planning, executing and optimizing social media content & campaigns. Understanding of best in class social media work in the industry and partners who can deliver the same 
  • Experience in working with content production houses and agencies 
  • Experience working with influencers and creators
  • Thorough and in depth understanding of trending and relevant social media influencers who can align and deliver to brand/ campaign goals 
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills. Fluency in Korean language.
  • Understanding of YouTube’s ecosystem (user, creator, advertiser) and multi-format product (long form, short-form, streaming)
  • Entertainment or content management experience, with knowledge of APAC pop culture and media.
  • Brand management experience / creative agency experience with a strong mix of creative thinking and project management. Specifically strong experience in digital marketing and social / content marketing.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced dynamic environment, handle complex budgets and multiple campaigns.
  • Experience with user brand research, with strong data comprehension skills.
  • Strong leadership, influencing and communication skills, with demonstrated talent at building and managing strong collaborative partnerships with third party agencies and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in social analytics, knowledge of social media monitoring and listening tools – have built and maintained processes to proactively and reactively manage audience sentiment across social platforms.
  • Demonstrated strong performance in prior roles, with independence, strong sense of ownership  and ability to form own point of view and recommendations
  • Ability to operate and find answers/develop solutions in ambiguity and in a very fast paced environment.
