Scopely seeks a Technical Lead of Analytics Engineering to join their Playgami team in Barcelona. Responsibilities include leading and mentoring a team of Analytics Engineers, developing and maintaining data models and pipelines (using BigQuery, dbt, Looker, Airflow), ensuring data quality and technical health, collaborating with product teams, and employing innovative technologies. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, expertise in the modern data stack, outstanding SQL skills, and a deep understanding of data modeling. They will champion data quality and collaborate to improve product success and operational efficiency.
Must have:
- Lead & mentor Analytics Engineers
- Develop data models & ELT pipelines
- Expertise in BigQuery, dbt, Looker, Airflow
- Outstanding SQL skills
- Data modeling expertise
Good to have:
- Experience with Snowflake
- Ping Pong or Mario Kart skills

Scopely is seeking a highly motivated Technical Lead of Analytics Engineering to join our Playgami team in Barcelona on a hybrid basis!

What You’ll Do
- Lead and mentor a team of Analytics Engineers, driving innovation and excellence in data engineering and analytics
- Develop a deep understanding of each game you are responsible for, providing you with the vital context to make informed, game-specific decisions
- Coordinate the development and maintenance of robust, scalable data models, ELT pipelines, and analytical tools
- Own game's data technical health, ensuring best practices and standards are of the highest level, technical products meet performance expectations and alignment with cross-game standards
- Contributing to cross-functional standards and governance groups and ensuring game-specific tracking is implemented with the highest level of accuracy and completeness
- Champion data quality, ensuring consistency and reliability across a wide array of data products
- Employ innovative technologies like BigQuery, dbt, Looker, and Airflow.
- Collaborate with game product teams and other departments, focusing on improving product success and operational efficiency
What We’re Looking For
- A passion for solving complex data puzzles and translating business needs into robust analytics solutions
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of guiding and growing analytics teams
- Expertise in the modern data stack, including tools like BigQuery, Snowflake, dbt, Looker, Airflow, GitHub, and command line-based workflows
- Outstanding SQL skills and extensive experience in analytics or a related field
- A deep understanding of data modeling concepts and standard methodologies
- An appreciation for both business context and technical excellence in solution development
- A collaborative, team-oriented attitude, taking pride in contributing to high-functioning teams
- A sense of fun at work – additional skills in Ping Pong or Mario Kart are a bonus
