Job Description

The AI and Machine Translation Specialist will deploy, maintain, and retrain AI and NMT models, designing workflows to integrate MT into the SIDE environment. This role involves developing quality control processes for MT output, managing assessments, expanding MT offerings, and advising internal teams and clients on MT adoption. The specialist will also develop and implement APIs, create training materials, and collaborate with PMs on model deployment and suitability.
Must have:

  • Five years' experience in translation industry
  • Two years' experience with MT engines or AI models
  • Excellent knowledge of business software (Microsoft Office)
  • Good knowledge of CAT tools
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Demonstrates proactivity
  • Ability to develop new operations improvements
  • Good organization and problem-solving skills

About the Role

To deploy the right AI and Machine Translation models according to company requirements. The AI and Machine Translation specialist will help maintain and retrain the NMT and AI models as well as help design the workflows and processes to integrate MT into the wider SIDE environment. The AI and Machine Translation specialist will develop a quality control process to ensure MT output quality is maximised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise all the operations involved in the smooth and successful running of machine translation models.
  • Managing assessments of MT and AI translation output quality
  • Expanding company's offering in the machine translation area
  • Advising internal teams on adopting machine translation as part of their process
  • Advising clients on adopting machine translation as part of the localisation strategy
  • Managing incoming technology development requests from all departments with relation to MT/AI connectivity and workflows.
  • Consult with clients and internal stakeholders to help develop and implement APIs to enable to deployment of MT within SIDE.
  • Creating training material and training linguists on post-editing machine translation
  • Create internal documentation to explain the uses and advantages of MT and AI translation
  • Collaborate with PMs on the correct deployment of models and on the evaluation of suitability for MT and AI.
  • Establish a clear communication workflow with customers and stakeholders to keep them updated on progress and make them aware of any potential risks.
  • Prepare financial reports and supporting documentation and ensure that all records are up to date according to the requirements and agreed budgets.

  • Adhere to the company IT and HR procedures and ensure the compliance of the team.
  • Understand ethical behaviour and business practices and ensure that own behaviour and the behaviour of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organisation.

Requirements

  • Translation or language-related BA studies or other European equivalents.
  • At least five years’ experience in the translation industry (video games specific experience welcome).
  • At least two years’ experience working with MT engines or AI models, including experience in deployment and training.
  • Excellent knowledge of business software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office).
  • Good knowledge of CAT tools. Knowledge of Plunet is a plus.
  • Clear and effective communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Demonstrates proactivity.
  • Ability to develop new ways to improve operations and to create opportunities.
  • Good organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Keeps a “can do” attitude and positive thinking.
