Job Description

The Digital Strategy Lead at Google Customer Solutions (GCS) in Japan is responsible for identifying and growing customer prospects within a specific segment. This role requires managing a portfolio of businesses, understanding their growth drivers, and developing quarterly plans to achieve objectives. Key responsibilities include driving customer growth through exceptional sales experiences, managing the full sales cycle (from outreach to performance evaluation), building strong customer relationships, and collaborating with internal teams. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills in both Japanese and English, experience in digital marketing and sales, and a proven track record of successfully managing multiple accounts. The position demands a deep understanding of Google's advertising solutions, along with the ability to tailor strategies to meet client needs and drive business growth. This role is crucial for supporting the growth of small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in Japan.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years in account management, sales, or marketing
  • Fluency in Japanese and English
  • Experience developing and pitching solutions
  • Managing multiple accounts simultaneously
Good to have:
  • Experience in various media platforms
  • Experience in technology, advertising, or media sales
  • Google Ads and YouTube account management experience
  • Excellent problem-solving and creative thinking skills

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in account management, sales, or marketing.
  • Experience developing and pitching solutions through various channels (e.g., over the telephone, email, in-person meetings) to prospective customers.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in Japanese and English to engage with external and internal local stakeholders in Japan.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in media across a variety of platforms (e.g., TV, Radio, Print, Sponsorship, etc.).
  • Experience managing multiple accounts simultaneously while paying attention to detail.
  • Experience in sales in a technology, advertising, media sales, or internet environment.
  • Experience with Google Ads and YouTube account management, managing advertising or media campaigns.
  • Ability to succeed in a changing environment, with excellent problem-solving, creative thinking skills.

As a Digital Strategy Lead within Accelerated Growth Team (AGT), you will identify and grow customer prospects within a segment of the Google Customer Solutions ecosystem, to set them up for growth on our platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of businesses by understanding growth drivers, identifying opportunities for growth, managing risks, and building quarterly plans for achievements.
  • Drive customer growth by delivering an outstanding customer sales experience and achieving customer business/marketing objectives.
  • Own the full cycle business process by driving customer outreach, sales pitches, solution implementation, and performance evaluation.
  • Engage, support, and build relationships with customers.
  • Partner with the internal Account Manager pod to pitch and accelerate business growth.
