As a GPU Validation Engineer, you will play a key role in the pre-silicon validation of Intel's leading-edge graphics IP. Your responsibilities will include building emulation/FPGA prototyping platforms, developing efficient verification methodologies, executing validation plans, and debugging issues. You will define and perform functional validation, review design changes, develop validation methodologies, perform silicon debug, and develop pre-Si validation infrastructure. You will also publish validation reports and collaborate with various teams to improve debug, validation test strategy, and processes. This position requires analytical skills to identify root causes and resolve failures. The role involves working with architecture, design, verification, board, platform, and manufacturing teams to maintain and improve debug, validation test strategy, methodologies, and processes for graphics interfaces and to meet desired product specifications.
Must have:
  • Computer architecture knowledge and microarchitecture fundamentals.
  • Experience with pre-silicon validation techniques and tools.
  • Experience in emulation, FPGA prototyping, and acceleration platforms.
  • Software programming in C/C++ and automation/scripting.
  • Validation protocols and strategy development.

Job Description: 

If you're interested in computer graphics and working with leading graphics validation engineers on Intel's latest GPU architecture, then our GPU Hardware IP (GHI) has an opportunity for you. In this position, you will be playing a key role in the pre-silicon validation of Intel's of leading-edge graphics IP. In this position candidate will build emulation/fpga prototyping platforms, develop efficient verification methodologies, execute to the validation plan and debug issues seen during validation.

The candidate in this position:

  • Defines, develops, and performs functional validation for GPUs, focusing on validation of interaction of GPUs, media, display and system level features.
  • Applies various hardware and software level tools and techniques to ensure validation coverage and that performance, power, and area goals are met.
  • Reviews proposed design changes to assess impact on validation plans, tasks, and timelines.
  • Develops GPU validation methodologies, executes validation plans, and collaborates with other engineers for design optimization, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
  • Performs silicon debug to identify root causes and resolves all functional and triage failures for GPU issues.
  • Tests interactions between various GPU features using validation infrastructure.
  • Develops Pre-Si validation infrastructure (e.g., performance monitors, behavioral checkers, state space coverage) and test environment used in validation testing.
  • Publishes GPU validation reports summarizing all validation activities performed, reviews results, and communicates to relevant teams.
  • Works with architecture, design, verification, board, platform, and manufacturing teams to maintain and improve debug, validation test strategy, methodologies, and processes for graphics interfaces and to meet desired product specifications.

The ideal candidate will also exhibit analytical skills.

Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related STEM degree and 5+ years of industry experience or
Masters Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related STEM degree and 3+ years of industry experience

The years of experience will include:

  • Computer Architecture Knowledge and Microarchitecture Fundamentals, functional testing
  • Experience with Pre-silicon Validation techniques, tools, simulation, and debug/troubleshooting
  • Experience in emulation, fpga prototyping, acceleration platforms
  • Software programming in C/C++ and automation/scripting
  • Validation Protocols and Strategy Development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with PCIe standards and compliance requirements
  • Deep understanding on HW/FW flows

Experience and hands on skills with LTB, ITP, Logic Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Scan dumps, and in-circuit Emulators

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US:

$139,710.00-$197,230.00

Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. * Job posting details (such as work model, location or time type) are subject to change.
