Samsung Device Solutions America seeks a Manager, Automotive Customer Engineering/FAE to support key accounts in the eastern & central US automotive market. Responsibilities include design-in and technical support for Samsung Memory (DRAM/FLASH) products; collaborating with customer engineers and internal teams; identifying optimal memory solutions; understanding customer roadmaps; driving development and quality teams; conducting technical meetings; developing and maintaining business relationships; providing technical support; tracking new designs and device qualification; reporting quality status; training field sales resources; and ensuring Samsung's qualification in memory applications. The role requires strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills, as well as deep expertise in the semiconductor industry and automotive ecosystem.

Samsung Device Solutions America is currently searching for a highly talented, motivated self-starter to join our growing Automotive group in our Customer Engineering / FAE team. This is an individual contributor role with responsibility for several key accounts, with a focus on the automotive market in the eastern & central US. The ideal candidate will be responsible for design-in and technical support of existing and future Samsung Memory (DRAM/FLASH) for Automotive Business.

  • Enable Global Sales by collaborating directly with the customer's design/development engineers/managers and various internal planning and marketing teams to assure that the best Samsung products are designed in to customer systems.
  • Work to identify the most optimal memory solutions for a customer’s needs by considering key variables such as memory type, density, speed, power, cost effectivity, lifecycle, and availability; all while emphasizing Samsung's business and technological strategies.
  • Learn & understand customers’ future roadmaps and long-term technical requirements to ensure Samsung memory products will meet their future needs. Be able to identify any misalignments and effectively communicate these findings to internal stakeholders. Drive development and quality teams to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Conduct technical meetings to promote new products, share product roadmaps, and address technical issues. Present Samsung's technical trend information and roadmaps to customer's key engineers and management.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with Key design/development engineers and managers.
  • Provide timely technical support by answering technical questions and communicating in an efficient manner. Develop subject matter expertise needed to provide first-line technical or operational issue resolution.
  • Track new designs & device qualification of projects; Supply device samples and follow up of sample test & qualification; Support sales and marketing during volume business phase
  • Strive to assure that Samsung is qualified in every possible memory application. Report quality status and qualification schedules to Samsung management on a regular basis, highlighting obstacles and strategies. Escalate to appropriate business or technical directors if higher customer involvement is needed to conclude Root Cause Analysis.
  • Train and direct all applicable field sales resources (SSI sales, Reps & Distributors and FAEs) on product roadmap and offerings, key focus products, how to target memory design-wins, providing sales enabling tools, application notes, etc. to enable design-wins & memory sales.

Location: This will be working Onsite at our Detroit office based in Southfield, 3 days a week with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields and more than 10+ years or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields and more than 8+ years of experience or PhD with 5+ years in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years semiconductor industry experience, strong understanding of memory products, ecosystem and roadmaps
  • Automotive industry experience and understanding ecosystem
  • Experience working in a customer facing role
  • Strong communication & presentation skills and ability to negotiate at all levels
  • Familiar with various Field Applications Engineering problem-solving techniques, general semiconductor fabrication technology, manufacturing process, and testing processes.
  • Good understanding of semiconductor (DRAM & NAND, CPU/GPU/SOC) industry ecosystem: vendors/suppliers, partners, OEM/ODM/CM, influencers

Base Pay Range

$120,890 - $187,110 USD
