Job Description

As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and approving monthly payroll for German companies, as well as addressing tax and social security issues related to German payroll. You will handle various annual one-time payments, analyze payroll data, and act as a point of contact for employees and managers on German tax, social security, and/or collective bargaining agreements. You will also prepare for and support internal and external audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS Excel and SAP HCM (ADP GlobalView) and Workday systems, along with fluent German and English.
Must have:
  • Prepare and review monthly payroll.
  • Resolve payroll-related tax and social security issues.
  • Handle annual one-time payments.
  • Analyze payroll data and ensure accuracy.
  • Communicate with employees on payroll matters.
  • Prepare for and support internal and external audits.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or related field.
  • 4+ years of payroll experience.
  • Proficiency in German and English.
  • Experience with SAP HCM and Workday.
Good to have:
  • Familiarity with the IG Metall collective agreement.
  • Experience with various types of shift allowances.
  • Experience communicating with social security and other German authorities.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of payroll, legal, social security, and tax developments.

General Summary:

Aufgaben:

  • Vorbereitung, Überprüfung und Genehmigung des monatlichen Payroll-Laufs für die deutschen Gesellschaften  

  • Klärung steuerlicher und sozialversicherungsrechtlicher Fragestellungen zu deutschen Payroll-Themen, z.B. mit Payroll-Anbietern, Wirtschaftsprüfern oder Global Payroll

  • Abwicklung diverser jährlicher Einmalzahlungen für Deutschland (z.B. Jahresbonus, 13. Gehalt, T-ZUG)

  • Durchführung von Analysen und Kontrollen von Lohn- und Gehaltsabrechnungsdaten

  • Ansprechpartner für Mitarbeiter, Teamassistenten und Führungskräfte in Fragen des deutschen Steuer-, Sozialversicherungs- und/oder Tarifrechts; Erarbeitung von Lösungsvorschlägen

  • Vorbereitung und Begleitung von internen und externen Audits wie SOX, operativen und rechtlichen Audits

Erforderliche Ausbildung:

  • Bachelor-Abschluss in Finanzen, Wirtschaft oder Rechnungswesen oder eine andere relevante Qualifikation in der Personalabrechnung

Erforderliche Kenntnisse:

  • Mindestens 4 Jahre Erfahrung in der Lohn- und Gehaltsabrechnung in einem ähnlichen Unternehmen

  • Vertraut mit dem IG Metall Tarifvertrag und den Besonderheiten, verschiedenen Arten von Schichtzulagen

  • Erfahrung in der Kommunikation mit Sozialversicherungen und anderen deutschen Behörden

  • Vertrautheit mit den neuesten Entwicklungen in den Bereichen Lohn- und Gehaltsabrechnung, Recht, Sozialversicherung und Steuern usw.

  • Fähigkeit, mehrere Aufgaben zu bewältigen und Fristen in einer schnelllebigen Umgebung mit hohem Volumen einzuhalten

  • Gute organisatorische und analytische Fähigkeiten mit Prozessverbesserungsmentalität

  • Liebe zum Detail und Genauigkeit Sehr gute MS Excel-Kenntnisse

  • SAP HCM (ADP GlobalView) und Workday System-Kenntnisse erforderlich

  • Fließende Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse
