Avery Dennison is seeking a Production Planning Control Team Leader. This role involves planning the sequence of fabrication, assembly, and other manufacturing operations for specific product portions to guide production workers. The team leader will prepare operational schedules, coordinate manufacturing activities to meet production and quality specifications, and potentially develop master production schedules. Responsibilities include ensuring supervised departments meet daily/annual goals, partnering with operations, proactively communicating supply chain issues and providing alternatives, and acting as a resource for less experienced colleagues, possibly directing their work. This position requires a broad knowledge of Supply Chain, Materials Management, and Logistics principles.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years SML or related experience
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional groups
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Good to have:
  • Ability to conduct research and prepare reports
  • Ability to present statistical information clearly
  • Ability to work with all levels of management
  • General Supply Chain, Materials Management, Logistics knowledge
  • Familiarity with process documentation and improvement
  • Outstanding project management skills

Job Description

  • Plan sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations relating to specific portion of the product for guidance of production workers. 

  • Prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications. May develop the master schedule for production or manufacturing.

  • Ensure the supervised department meets daily/annual goals. Partner with Operations to achieve production goals

  • Proactively communicate supply chain issues and provide alternatives.

  • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of Supply Chain, Materials Management, and/or Logistics to the completion of complex assignments.

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may direct the work of other staff members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. 5+ years SML or related experience.

  • Outstanding analytical, mathematical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills and detail-oriented. 

  • Ability to interface with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements.

  • Ability to conduct research, prepare comprehensive reports and present complex statistical information in a clear and succinct fashion. 

  • Ability to work well with all levels of management and employees. 

  • General Supply Chain, Materials Management, and Logistics knowledge.

  • Familiarity in process documentation and improvement.

  • Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes and function specific software.

  • Outstanding project management skills.

  • Green Belt or ELS certification preferred.
