Job Description

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful execution of creative projects at Marks, ensuring projects meet deadlines, stay within budget, and maintain quality standards. This role manages cross-functional workflows and requires a strong understanding of project management best practices, organizational skills, and the ability to guide complex projects from start to finish. Key responsibilities include project planning and execution, team collaboration, client relationship management, budget and resource management, and process improvement. The role involves developing and managing detailed project plans, coordinating teams, maintaining client communication, monitoring budgets, and improving agency workflows. This is a temporary 18-month hybrid role based in Toronto.

  • Track project performance in partnership with the PMO, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including designers, strategists, copywriters, and production, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Maintain clear, proactive communication with clients, providing updates on timelines, deliverables, and any potential risks.

Job Summary


The Senior Project Manager is responsible for driving the successful execution of creative projects within Marks, ensuring that timelines, budgets, margin and quality standards are consistently met. Acting as the operational backbone for the team, the Senior Project Manager manages cross-functional workflows. This role requires a deep understanding of project management best practices, strong organizational skills, and the ability to guide complex projects from conception to completion.

This role is a temporary 18 month hybrid role based out of Toronto.


Key Responsibilities


1. Project Planning & Execution

  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, including scope, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Owns all gates, risk and commercial controls to run the projects they are accountable for, for best utilisation, workflows, and delivery.
  • Own and track margins and optimisation solutions for the projects they are accountable for, ultimately delivering to the target VCM
  • Define project milestones and deliverables, ensuring alignment with client goals and agency standards.
  • Track project performance in partnership with the PMO, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate closely with the PMO to ensure projects align with organizational goals and governance standards.
  • Maintain data integrity within project management tools like Workfront, ensuring accurate reporting and alignment with organizational
    objectives


2. Team Collaboration

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including designers, strategists, copywriters, and production, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Act as the central point of contact for project-related queries and updates.
  • Support team members by removing roadblocks and facilitating effective communication.

 

3. Client Relationship Management

  • Maintain clear, proactive communication with clients, providing updates on timelines, deliverables, and any potential risks.
  • Manage client expectations, ensuring alignment with project objectives and agency capabilities.
  • Collaborate with account managers to identify upsell opportunities and strengthen client relationships.
  • Budget & Resource Management
  • Monitor project budgets and ensure adherence to financial constraints.
  • Track resource allocation, flagging potential bottlenecks or capacity issues.
  • Maintain data integrity within project management tools like Workfront, ensuring accurate reporting and alignment with organizational
    objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement by integrating PMO processes with dayto- day project execution and facilitating clear communication across
    teams.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenses, and oversee resource allocation in collaboration with Ops.
  • Mitigate risks by identifying potential issues and implementing proactive solutions.
  • Monitor and report on project health to Portfolio Leads and Ops

 

5. Process Improvement

  • Continuously improve agency workflows, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices to keep the agency competitive.
