The Molding Supervisor will oversee production operations, ensuring daily schedules are met, productivity is tracked, and quality systems are compliant. Responsibilities include operating in a LEAN manufacturing environment, suggesting process improvements, and effectively teaching, coaching, and counseling associates. The role requires a strong understanding of computer applications, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team to achieve established outcomes. The supervisor must also make decisions using available resources, maintain confidentiality, and adapt to changes in the work environment. They must instill trust from management, other associates, and customers.

Job Summary:   
The primary focus of this position is to oversee the organization’s production operations. The Molding supervisor ensures that daily production schedules are met, productivity is tracked and quality systems are compliant.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate in a LEAN manufacturing environment and strive to suggest process improvements

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities – consider including these in all, if applicable:

  • Solid working knowledge of standard computer applications including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external customers
  • Work effectively as part of a team to achieve established outcomes. Understand other’s roles and empower one another to take responsibility to be successful.  Demonstrate a collaborative interaction with peers to reach a common goal.
  • Pay close attention to detail in all aspects of the job
  • Make decisions using available resources and sound judgment
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyzes information skillfully
  • Effectively teach, coach, and counsel associates by effectively communicating and providing follow-up.
  • Open to other’s ideas and exhibits a willingness to try new things.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; monitor work to ensure quality.
  • Prioritize and plan work activities to use time efficiently.
  • Adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Follows instructions, responds to direction, and solicits feedback to improve.
  • Act in such a way to instill trust from management, other associates, as well as customers. 
  • Work overtime as required, including weekends

Education and Experience

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 3 year of Manufacturing experience or mechanical aptitude a plus  (do not use a range, list the minimum number of years required.)
  • Leads – 3 - 5 years of experience, preferably acting as a subject matter expert in the role or demonstrated, consistent performance in the role
  • Supervisor – 4+ years of experience.  Associate degree or equivalent experience.
