Position Summary:
The MedscapeLIVE! Account Director will be responsible for building and managing client relationships, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the organization, and enabling flawless event execution. The applicant should be a highly organized individual with the ability to prioritize and excel in a deadline-driven environment. The applicant should also have excellent problem-solving skills, critical-thinking, conflict resolution, and be adept at distilling issues and providing real-time guidance to team members. The applicant should have a background in pharmaceutical marketing and use that background to guide strategic account decisions and client interactions.
What You’ll Do:
Responsible for managing and overseeing multiple projects, deadlines, and clients for one large priority account. This requires focused attention to detail, team leadership, concise communication, and a sense of urgency
Proficiency in navigating a matrix organization, collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams, meeting client and management expectations, and ensuring projects remain on target and within agreed-upon parameters
Become a subject matter expert on the live event products to discuss strategy and best practices with clients
Work closely with the sales team for new opportunities and understand all nuances of the project to relay to the execution team in a timely manner with defined next steps/deliverables
Schedule and conduct kick-off, interim, and post-event meetings for each project, and provide ongoing updates to client and team as required on each initiative to ensure successful management and completion
First point of escalation for internal teams for ongoing workflow questions and client issues. Work closely with leadership team to address concerns and proactively problem solve
Serve as a collaborative partner to consistently provide value and expertise from project inception to execution and minimize our exposure and risk to successful, on-time delivery of all projects
Responsible for own workload but also manage one direct report, ultimately responsible for their work as well
Establish a comprehensive project tracking report to share with clients on the status of their live/virtual events
Overall ownership of client project success and execution
Onsite presence as needed for in-studio broadcasts

Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree required
Minimum five years of account management experience required; within the healthcare environment or medical education environment strongly preferred
Prior experience in executing live or virtual events, ranging from small to midsize programs with a focus on pharmaceutical, non-accredited, promo events
Experience in an external client-facing environment
Highly professional, ability to work independently, and easy rapport in building collaborative work relationships
Outstanding time management and organizational skills and possess an eye for details
Ability to provide creative solutions independently or within a team dynamic as issues arise
Excellent verbal communication, writing, and grammar skills
Ability to work extended hours to meet clients’ business needs, if needed. Travel may be required
Experience with Medical Legal Regulatory (MLR) preferred
Prior working experience in Workfront is a plus
Technical knowledge in virtual and streaming platforms is a plus
