The Principal Software Engineer will be part of a dynamic team responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing security and network-related technologies. They will contribute to product specifications, software architecture, and design and must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The role involves developing innovative network security solutions and proposing designs to meet new product requirements. Responsibilities also include mentoring junior engineers.
Must have:
  • 10+ years of software development experience in Networking
  • Expert in C/C++/Go coding
  • Experience in creating and working with APIs
  • Experience working with various hosting platforms
Good to have:
  • Experience with OLAP/Analytical databases
  • Hands-on experience with multi-core systems
  • Experience in Proxy, Firewalls, IDS, IPS, DPI
  • Experience with NETFLOW and IPFIX

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer for our GigaSMART team. This candidate will be part of a dynamic team responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing security and network-related technologies. You will work with cross-functional groups to contribute to product specifications, software architecture, and design and must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.  
  
What you’ll do:
  • Help develop innovative network security solutions to expand the Gigamon portfolio
  • Contribute to overall product requirements, architecture, and design
  • Propose designs/solutions to meet requirements for new products
  • Conduct feasibility analysis for proposed solutions
  • Produce functional specifications and design documents
  • Mentor junior engineers in software development, technology, and processes
 
What you’ve done:
  • Minimum MSEE/CS with 10+  years of software development experience in Networking Software architecture and Design.
  • Expert in C/C++/Go coding.
  • Experience in creating and working with APIs 
  • Experience working with various hosting platforms, AWS, Azure, GCP, and VMWare 
  • Experience with OLAP/Analytical databases is a plus 
  • Hands-on experience with multi-core, multi-process/multi-threaded systems 
  • Experience in Proxy, Firewalls, IDS, IPS, Data protection, and Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) is a plus. 
  • Experience with NETFLOW and IPFIX is a plus. 
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to work in a high-achieving team or independently.
