Job Description

Xplor is seeking a Senior Mobile QA Engineer with Appium expertise to join their global team. The role involves estimating, designing, developing, and executing manual and automated test procedures and cases for mobile applications. Responsibilities include writing effective manual and automated test cases or frameworks, performing software defect tracking, and regression testing. The engineer will analyze product environments and architectures to select appropriate test methodologies, manually test new changes as needed, and collaborate closely with Technical Business Analysts, Software Engineers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of Appium testing experience
  • Mobile testing and automation framework setup
  • Appium, emulators, simulators, real devices
  • BrowserStack or LambdaTest experience
  • Mobile OS experience (Android/iOS)
  • Web application and REST API testing (Postman)
  • Functional, Integration, Regression, UAT, Release Management understanding
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams
Good to have:
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps Server and Notion
  • 5+ years of QA experience in Microsoft Windows environment
  • CI/CD and DevOps environment experience

Responsibilities 

  • Applies expertise related to estimating, designing, developing, and executing manual and automated test procedures and cases based on requirements relevant to manual and automated test planning and creation for Mobile Application. 

  • Depending on specific requirements, writes effective manual & automated test cases or automated frameworks; performs software defect tracking and regression for identified software release. 

  • Analyzes and understands product’s environment, architecture, and interdependencies to determine and apply appropriate test methodologies and cases relative to applications being tested. 

  • Manually tests new changes as necessary. 

  • Works closely with Technical Business Analyst, Software Engineers, Product Managers and other stakeholders. 

Qualifications

  • Mature understanding of the different types of testing that QA will engage in: Functional, Integration, Regression, User Acceptance, and Release Management. 
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Java
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Appium testing. 
  • Should have experience in mobile testing and setting up Mobile automation frameworks. 
  • Experience with Automated Mobile test Framework and tools like Appium. 
  • Design, implementation, and delivery of scalable, maintainable, configurable, and robust test automation frameworks.    
  • Experience with emulator-based testing tools, simulators, and real devices. 
  • Experience with BrowserStack or LambdaTest. 
  • Experience with different Mobile Operating Systems (Android and iOS platforms). 
  • Experience with mobile application testing, including functional and non-functional testing, UI testing, and compatibility testing. 
  • Solid understanding testing web applications, REST API’s (ideally using Postman). 
  • Mature understanding of the different types of testing that QA will engage in: Functional, Integration, Regression, User Acceptance, and Release Management.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers and product managers


Desired Qualifications 

  • Familiarity with tools like Azure DevOps Server and Notion for sprint planning, test plans, and requirements. 
  • At least 5 years of Solid understanding in Software Quality Assurance in a Microsoft Windows environment. 
  • Sound understanding working in a CI/CD and DevOps environment. 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/Engineering or equivalent work experience
