Job Summary:

The role of the Show Production Designer is to ensure that the content and integrity of the concept is maintained throughout the design, production and installation process. He or she is responsible for working directly with the various internal stakeholders to make design decisions necessary to the progress of show design production and installation of Enhancements and other Design Service projects to ensure the highest possible show quality for our guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Confirm understanding of the desired concept, design interface and validate design intent with design team leader
  • Deliver conforming finished product to the design team
  • Assist in integration of specific design elements into overall design package, prepare and ensure drawing packages meet show and facility requirements and determine direct mock-up and staging efforts for discipline
  • Chair reviews of all show design documents
  • Confirm scope details for individual design element in preparation for reviews of all show design documents
  • Deliver design and production elements to schedule and budget and advise the Producer on impact of all proposed changes
  • Provide day-to-day art direction to production and installation crews within design discipline
  • Strategize production and installation of show elements
  • Review shop drawings, materials submissions and conduct site inspections
  • Field art direct installation of show elements and conduct recurring Show Quality reviews

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4-6 years in theme park design, production and installation
  • Working knowledge of dimension design, set design, set production, interior fit out and furniture design
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques and materials
  • Knowledge of show requirements for special effects, lighting, media design
  • Successful team experience on medium to complex projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as required
  • Good knowledge and direct use of computer systems and software: AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, Maya, SketchUp, Adobe illustrator, PhotoShop, Microsoft Office and other 3-D Rendering software.
