Software Engineer - Customer & Partner Applications

The Enterprise Application Delivery department part of Global IT delivers Deliver Enterprise Applications directly to the business, channel and customers.

You have a strong focus on backend development and ideally experience with the React framework and an understanding of modern cloud-based architecture, preferably Azure Serverless. This role requires a balance of front-end and back-end development skills, with a greater emphasis on backend technologies.

You will be working on applications and/or services offering complex functionality to partners, customers and colleagues supporting our commercial processes. Examples are calculators for hardware configurations, training environment provisioning and configuration, product version comparison and product download management. Currently these are implemented using IIS on (virtual) web servers, but we want you to contribute to transitioning them into proper cloud-based solutions.

Key responsibilities are:

• Back-End Development: Design, implement, and manage backend services and APIs, focusing on serverless architectures using Azure.
• Front-End Development: Utilize the React framework to develop and maintain user-facing features.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality software solutions
• Scalability and Performance: Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of applications.
• Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and debug issues across the full stack.
• Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Key requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 2-5 years of experience in full stack development.
• Soft Skills: Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, and teamwork skills.
• Technical Skills:
• Good understanding of backend development, including experience with .NET or similar technologies.
• Experience with cloud-based architectures, preferably Azure Serverless (e.g., Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure SQL, etc.).
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and experience with the React framework.
• Knowledge of database systems such as SQL and NoSQL.
• Experience with version control systems like GitHub
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams
