The Proprietary SDK Development team in Budapest focuses on developing cutting-edge wireless solutions, including RAIL SDK, Connect SDK and Stack, Wi-SUN SDK, Z-Wave SDK, and Amazon Sidewalk. They also engage in SDK-orthogonal responsibilities like ease of use initiatives, switched- and dynamic multiprotocol solutions, OTA DFU implementations, porting activities, open-source contributions, and solutions supporting manufacturing and mass production.

Must Have:
  • Develop embedded software solutions on Silicon Labs wireless chips
  • Design and develop SDK, applications, and wireless profiles
  • Collaborate with Software and Hardware R&D teams
  • Understand customer applications and provide effective solutions
  • Internal automated tool development, devops
  • BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering/Science
  • Experience in embedded software development with embedded C
  • Proficient written and verbal communication in English

Meet the Proprietary SDK Development Team

Our Proprietary SDK Development Team located in Budapest plays a critical role in developing cutting-edge wireless solutions, including but not limited to:

  • RAIL SDK: The SDK based on RAIL (Radio Abstraction Interface Layer), simplifying the development of wireless applications by abstracting the complexities of radio hardware.

  • Connect SDK and Stack: A scalable and secure wireless networking stack for proprietary protocols, enabling rapid deployment of robust wireless applications.

  • Wi-SUN SDK: Provides tools and software components tailored for developing robust, secure, and interoperable IP-based wireless smart utility and IoT mesh networks.

  • Z-Wave SDK: A comprehensive development kit for creating interoperable home automation devices based on the Z-Wave wireless communication protocol.

  • Amazon Sidewalk: Facilitates development for devices connecting securely and efficiently over Amazon's shared neighborhood network.

Additionally, we actively engage in several SDK-orthogonal responsibilities:

  • Ease of Use initiatives: Improving SDK usability and accessibility, ensuring easy integration and rapid development.

  • Switched- and Dynamic Multiprotocol Solutions (primarily with BLE): Enable flexible integration of multiple wireless protocols on a single device.

  • OTA DFU implementations: Provide reliable Over-the-Air Device Firmware Update solutions to enhance maintainability and security.

  • Porting activities: Facilitate seamless adaptation and deployment of SDKs on various hardware platforms.

  • Open Source contributions: Actively engage in and support open-source software communities, promoting innovation and collaboration.

  • Solutions supporting Manufacturing and Mass Production: Develop and maintain reliable, scalable solutions to streamline manufacturing and production processes.

What You Will Do

  • Develop embedded software solutions on Silicon Labs wireless chips

  • Design and develop SDK, applications and wireless profiles

  • Collaborate with all the other Sotfware and Hardware RnD teams

  • Work with our Applications Engineers to understand our customer's applications and help provide effective solutions to customer requirements and improve user experience

  • Internal automated tool development, devops

Skills Needed

  • BSc or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering/Computer Science

  • Experience in embedded software development with embedded C

    • Interest / Experience with some of the followings:

    • Bluetooth/802.15.4/Zigbee/Lora/LPWAN or any other wireless std

    • RF Experience

    • Os (FreeRTOS, uc OS, Linux …)

    • Experience with unit test / hardware test / code coverage / static code analysis

    • AWS IOT Core

    • Makefile (gcc, cmake) & linkerscript

    • Python

    • git

    • Jenkins

    • JIRA

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English
