Job Description

The Firmware BSP Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining Board Support Packages (BSP) on Automotive Ethernet Switch Platforms. The role involves developing and maintaining abstraction layers, debugging system issues, and optimizing firmware. The engineer will collaborate with hardware teams and may require occasional travel. They should have experience with ARM-based platforms, embedded drivers, communication protocols, C programming, and embedded diagnostics tools. The role also requires strong team and communication skills. Additional responsibilities include participating in device bring-ups and working with teams across multiple geographies. The job requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field and experience ranging from 5-8 years.
Must have:
  • Experience with BSP on ARM-based platforms
  • Experience with embedded device drivers and protocols
  • Proficient in C programming
  • Experience with embedded diagnostics tools
  • Strong team and communication skills
Good to have:
  • Experience with RTOS like FreeRTOS or Zephyr
  • Experience in debugging multiple MCU platforms
  • Experience working with teams across multiple geographies
  • Strong knowledge of ARM sub-system

What You Can Expect

  • Build and maintain BSP on Automotive Ethernet Switch Platforms
  • Develop and maintain different kinds of Abstraction Layers on Switch platform
  • Debug system issues on Switch platforms, including coordinating with HW team
  • Occasionally travel to coordinate with other teams
  • Optimize Firmware running on Ethernet Switch

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields with 7-8 years of professional experience, or a Master’s degree with 5-6 years of experience.
  • Experience in working with Board Support Packages on ARM-based platforms. Should have participated in at least 2 device bring-ups.
  • Strong team and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with remote teams.
  • Experience with embedded device drivers and communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, MDIO, UART).
  • Proficient in C programming.
  • Hands-on experience with embedded diagnostics tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG.
  • Working knowledge of hardware design schematics.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., git) and build environments (IDE, gmake).
  • Excellent English language skills.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.


Preferred:

  • Experience with any of the RTOS's like FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX
  • Experience in debugging multiple MCU platforms
  • Experience in working with teams across multiple geographies
  • Strong knowledge of ARM sub-system
