General Summary:

The Qualcomm IP Department is seeking a motivated and skilled individual with operational and business process analysis expertise to join our Outside Counsel Vendor Management team. In this role, you will be an integral part of a team dedicated to managing our relationships with US and International Firms and IP Service Providers. Your efforts will ensure our operations are efficient, compliant with all relevant regulations, and aligned with our strategic objectives and goals. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining high standards of performance and driving improvements that support our mission and vision. We are seeking a candidate who possesses exceptional analytical skills, a passion for continuous improvement, and natural curiosity. The ideal candidate has a strong sense of self-motivation and experience engaging with and presenting to senior-level internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

•    Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in the legal field and 5+ years of industry-specific legal experience.
OR
Paralegal Certificate and 5+ years of experience in the legal field and 5+ years of industry-specific legal experience.
OR
High School diploma or equivalent and 8+ years of experience in the legal field and 8+ years of industry-specific legal experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Outside Counsel and Vendor Management: This is the core responsibility of the role. The ideal candidate will possess operational experience working with outside counsel and vendor management, defining and monitoring key performance indicators to ensure compliance and optimal performance. Ensuring teams have appropriate capacity to maintain high standards and efficiency is essential.
  • Business Process Analysis and Design: Conduct detailed analyses of current IP processes, implement new features, and develop solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This includes leveraging insights from stakeholders. Support the team in designing and implementing new programs for the business that will require processes and workflows. Collaborate with stakeholders who manage systems support and firm workload to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage process improvement projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to defined goals and budgets.
  • Data Management and Reporting: Gather and analyze IP-related data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and accessibility. Create and manage reporting tools and dashboards to deliver insights into IP performance. This involves independently collecting, analyzing, summarizing, and presenting key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior-level internal and external stakeholders.
  • Training and Support: Create and develop training materials to support process changes and new initiatives. Provide training and support to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring smooth adoption and ongoing compliance.
  • SharePoint Site and Document Management: Oversee the maintenance, updates, and management of SharePoint sites to ensure functionality and alignment with organizational needs. This includes creating and managing site content, permissions, and workflows, providing user support and training, and managing document libraries with proper version control and organization.

Qualifications

  • Experience and Expertise:
    • Substantial experience overseeing the management of Outside Counsel and Vendors, with a proven track record of ensuring compliance and optimizing performance.
    • Patent prosecution experience at a large law firm or in-house corporation.
    • Proven project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional projects and delivering results on time.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex processes and identify improvement opportunities.
    • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and prioritize tasks in a fast-changing environment.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
    • Advanced experience using MS Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Experience with Visio, QlikView, and Tableau is a plus.
    • Proven ability to help lead the RFP process, including defining project requirements and negotiating terms with vendors and stakeholders.

$47.27 - $70.91

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
