The Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Qualified Management Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will support the preparation of financial reports, assist in budgeting and forecasting, and ensure accurate financial records. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to gain hands-on experience while continuing their professional studies (ACCA/CIMA/ACA).
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support in the preparation of profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Provide analysis and recommendations to support business decisions.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and highlight trends or areas of concern.
Cost Analysis and Controls
- Support cost analysis projects to identify savings opportunities.
- Maintain and improve internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Monitor and reconcile expenditure against budgets.
Transaction Support
- Reconcile key accounts, including bank reconciliations and control accounts.
- Process accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
- Assist with year-end audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
Business Partnering
- Work closely with operational teams to provide financial insights and support.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand financial needs and challenges.
- Present financial data in a user-friendly format for non-finance stakeholders.
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency of financial operations.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging financial technologies.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Qualifications
- Part-qualified in ACCA, CIMA, or ACA (or equivalent).
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (preferred).
Skills and Experience
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of financial and management accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Xero, or similar).
- Experience in preparing financial reports and reconciliations.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
