Job Description

Wargaming is looking for a Release Manager to join our Game Engine Development team. This is a key role for someone who is ready to take ownership and help shape how we manage releases. Our processes are still being built, so we need someone who’s not afraid to step in, make improvements, and confidently lead change. You’ll be responsible for planning and managing the release process — ensuring everything runs smoothly, meets our goals, and follows the agreed procedures.
Must have:
  • Work closely with various teams
  • Plan release activities with other departments and identify dependencies, risks, and limitations
  • Manage all aspects of each release
  • Ensure all release requirements, dependencies, and team availability are agreed upon in advance
  • Track the release schedule and keep all stakeholders informed of any changes
  • Share updates about the release process, schedule, and approvals with everyone involved
  • Coordinate and manage both major and minor release activities
  • Run release retrospectives to evaluate what went well and where improvements can be made
  • Propose and track process improvements, assigning follow-up actions to the appropriate teams
  • Continuously seek ways to enhance release processes and improve coordination between teams
Good to have:
  • Experience working with PS5, Xbox, or Steam platforms
  • Understanding of CI/CD processes or experience with tools like TeamCity
  • Russian language proficiency

Job Overview

Wargaming is looking for a Release Manager to join our Game Engine Development team.

You’ll be responsible for planning and managing the release process — ensuring everything runs smoothly, meets our goals, and follows the agreed procedures.

Head of Development

What will you do?

  • Work closely with various teams — including the game engine team, AAA game project teams, and teams working on prototype-stage projects.
  • Plan release activities with other departments and identify dependencies, risks, and limitations.
  • Manage all aspects of each release — including scope readiness, patch notes, artifacts, participants, and technical checks.
  • Ensure all release requirements, dependencies, and team availability are agreed upon in advance.
  • Track the release schedule and keep all stakeholders informed of any changes.
  • Share updates about the release process, schedule, and approvals with everyone involved.
  • Coordinate and manage both major and minor release activities.
  • Run release retrospectives to evaluate what went well and where improvements can be made.
  • Propose and track process improvements, assigning follow-up actions to the appropriate teams.
  • Continuously seek ways to enhance release processes and improve coordination between teams.

What are we looking for?

  • 3+ years of experience in a relevant role.
  • Background in QA, Project Management, or Release Management.
  • Solid understanding of software development processes.
  • Experience in creating or improving workflows and release processes.
  • Experience working with multiple teams, including distributed ones.
  • Familiarity with Agile practices, PMBOK, and ITIL processes.
  • Experience with tools like JIRA and Confluence.
  • English level – Intermediate.

What additional skills will help you stand out?

  • Experience working with PS5, Xbox, or Steam platforms.
  • Understanding of CI/CD processes or experience with tools like TeamCity.
  • Russian language proficiency.

  • Hybrid (4 days of work from the office)
