Job Description

As a Senior Account Solution Engineer for the Healthcare & Life Sciences Industry, you will be responsible for supporting the pre-sales team by partnering with sales to drive new business and help companies reach their growth goals. You will lead discovery sessions, identify customer pain points, and build innovative solutions using the Salesforce technology stack. You will articulate the benefits of Salesforce to customers at all levels, create positive experiences, and leverage your technical skills to build demos. You will also orchestrate the Solution Consulting team, represent Salesforce at events, and participate in internal training. This role requires a strategic thinker with experience in presales/solution engineering or consulting, preferably within the pharma or medtech industry. The role involves collaborating with sales, understanding customer needs, and presenting solutions.

Your role as Solution Consultant for the Healthcare & Life Sciences (HLS) Industry
The Solution Consulting team is organized into several smaller teams based on the products they are selling, or the industry/vertical they are selling into. In this case, we’re looking for someone to support the HLS industry team for pharma and ,edTech.

We’re looking for a presales colleague preferably from the software industry and/or with pharma or medTech consulting/customer background to support our Pre-Sales team. In this role you will support commercial customers mainly, but also enterprise accounts.

A typical day of a Solution Consultant consists of the following:

  • Liaise with your sales counterpart “on eye level” to develop new/existing business or account strategy.
  • Lead discovery sessions with your customers to understand/identify pain points as a basis to build an innovative solution based on the Salesforce technology stack.
  • Use your current business knowledge to identify specific industry challenges in terms of digitalisation.
  • Clearly articulate the benefits of Salesforce to customers at all levels, examples include; Administration/IT Staff, managers and "C" level executives.
  • Create memorable positive experiences for your customers, using empathy, storytelling, immersive demo techniques, etc.
  • Leverage your technical skills to build innovative art of the possible demo solutions and establish a trusted relationship with the technical stakeholders on the customer side.
  • Orchestrate an extended Solution Consulting team while building e.g. Multi-Cloud solutions for the customer.
  • Represent Salesforce during Marketing or Partner Events with specific Consultant knowledge (e.g. Industry demos, industry-specific discussions/use cases).
  • Have a strong interest in growing your career and participating in our internal training programs and mentorship initiatives. Sharing your knowledge in the EMEA PreSales community.

This role is perfect for someone who likes to work with people, is able to think strategically, interested in technology / digitalisation, interested in continuous learning, and has an understanding of what challenges the HLS industry is facing today.

Personality Attributes/Experience:

  • Good understanding of the unique business requirements of the pharma or medtech sub-industry trends and “language”.
  • Ability to translate customers’ needs into a compelling vision and roadmap.
  • Strategic thinker.
  • Track record of presales / solution engineering, consultancy, product management, delivery or training success for a software solution organisation. Pharma/medtech sub-industry focus preferred.
  • Solid oral, written, presentation, communication and relationship skills.
  • Good and empathetic listener, laser-focused on customer success.
  • Proven time management skills in a dynamic team environment.
  • Ability to work as part of a distributed team to solve problems in dynamic, energizing environments.
  • Inquisitive, practical and passionate about technology.
  • Mindset of curiosity: likes to be the first to know something and why and how things happen.
  • Good at searching out information and experimenting, likes to concentrate on a particular topic and to solve puzzles.
  • Good at explaining ideas and finding ways to keep people’s attention.
  • Willing and able to travel occasionally.
  • Related Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
  • Fluent German & English.
