As a Sr. Product Manager on eBay’s Regulatory team, you will be responsible for the product strategy across our mobile and web experiences in support of government regulations impacting eBay. You will build holistic approaches to regulatory requirements to ensure speed and scale for eBay and ease for sellers. You will create product strategy and vision, obsess over customer experiences, foster collaboration, and empower teams to prioritize and implement. The role involves aligning platforms and services to provide a consistent experience for eBay's communities. The role also emphasizes the importance of customer focus and building processes for continuous improvement.
Must have:
  • 5+ years experience building products.
  • Deep expertise in product management and development.
  • Technical depth building UX experiences.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Good to have:
  • Experience in the Compliance and Regulatory space.

About the team and the role: 

You would be joining the Payments organization within eBay, which is at the heart of the overall eBay marketplace. The Payments team focuses on end-to-end digital Payments experiences for our customers, making it seamless to buy and to grow a thriving business with eBay. Our Buyers and Sellers are at the center of everything we do, and our product, engineering, and design teams obsess over building best-in-class experiences that our eBay community loves.

As a Sr. Product Manager on eBay’s Regulatory team, you will be responsible for the product strategy across our mobile and web experiences in support of the various government regulations that impact eBay. You will need to align our platforms and services against a cohesive and consistent experience catered for our unique communities. It’s really easy to build point solutions for regulatory requirements - your job is to ensure we have a holistic approach that enables speed and scale for eBay and simplicity and ease for our sellers.

You should obsess over solving substantial customer problems! This role requires exceptional leadership and communication skills, having demonstrated the ability to connect and collaborate both within our team and with partners. What you will accomplish: 

  • Create Product Strategy & Vision - You will be responsible for the holistic vision and end-to-end execution of key product solutions for our customers; develop and effectively champion a data-driven and market-informed product strategy that aligns to our eBay corporate strategy and delivers tangible outcomes for our Sellers and the eBay business

  • Obsess the Customer & Overall Quality of Experiences - Demonstrate a steadfast focus on listening to our end-users and feed their voice into the customer-centric design process. Leverage design and research partnerships to get insights and feedback throughout the entire product lifecycle. Build processes for continuous improvement

  • Break Down Silos & Enable Tight-knit Collaboration - Create connections and processes across teams that will drive efficient cross-team collaboration and clear alignment. Primary teams this role partners with outside of the Seller Experience team include global markets, analytics, design, structured data, and our focused categories

  • Empower Teams To Rapidly Prioritize & Implement - Build in processes to ensure execution with speed and transparency. Inspire a “decide and go” mentality across your team to prioritize and propel the development process forward to hit our outcomes. Partner closely with Program Management to manage through blockers and communicate dates and milestones

What you will bring: 

  • 5+ years of proven experience building products, deep expertise in customer focused product management and product development lifecycle. Experience with online marketplaces and eCommerce platforms preferred. Experience in the Compliance and Regulatory space a plus

  • Technical depth and proven experience with building engaging, customer-focused end-to-end UX experiences; designing elegant solutions to complex problems that require integrations with multiple platforms, domains and services; and driving analysis of qualitative and quantitative data and metrics to derive opportunities, gaps, and solutions

  • Experience managing multiple complex, multi-phase strategic products in parallel with the ability to manage matrixed teams in a global context to successful delivery and excellence. Proven ability and in-market examples of defining a strategic vision for a new and innovative portfolio of products that drove significant impact for millions of end users at a global scale

  • Exceptional financial and analytical abilities with a successful track record and specific examples of launching products with measurable impact on a global scale. Examples of translating complex business issues into financial terms and measuring teams against financial goals

  • Deep understanding of the product development lifecycle from planning through deployment; experience leveraging test and validation frameworks throughout the product lifecycle. Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in Agile teams is desirable

  • Must have a passion for our sellers and the relentless drive to improve experiences for our sellers, influencing a higher bar on quality and ensuring the seller is always at the center of our product roadmap and priorities. Experience working with design research and qualitative tools to ensure the voice of our seller is at the center of our product development

  • Strong, concise communicator and effective story-teller; experience using both analytics and qualitative research to express the vision and strategy of the product

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$108,000 - $168,000

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
