Overview

At LegalZoom, we are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant – Accounting and Consolidation to join our dynamic finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong foundation in accrual-based accounting, who is eager to grow their technical skills while supporting a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment.

You will

• Support the monthly and quarterly close processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and accrual schedules, with a focus on accrual expense accounting.

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and consolidation reports in compliance with US GAAP and SEC requirements.

• Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners to maintain accurate records in Oracle ERP and support system-related inquiries or tasks.

• Provide support in ongoing FCCS (Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud Service) processes and related projects, including report validation and data integrity checks.

• Assist with internal and external audit requests by preparing supporting documentation and schedules.

• Help maintain and document accounting procedures and internal controls in accordance with company policy.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to efforts to streamline financial workflows.

• Perform other ad hoc accounting tasks and support special projects as needed.

• Other duties as assigned.

• Occasional travel may be required as needed.

You have

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; working toward CPA is a plus.

• 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably including time in public accounting or a corporate accounting department.

• Strong understanding of accrual-based accounting principles and experience preparing journal entries and reconciliations.

• Exposure to Oracle ERP or other major enterprise accounting systems; FCCS experience is a plus.

• Solid knowledge of US GAAP and basic internal control concepts.

• Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with large datasets.

• Experience with Oracle ERP and exposure to FCCS are strong pluses.

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• A proactive, team-oriented mindset with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

LegalZoom is a remote-first company and the national range for this role is $54,000 to $86,400. Actual compensation offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to: geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, and/or other business and organizational needs. In addition, an annual bonus, incentive bonus and/or restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package.
