This Backend Engineer - Payments role at LeoVegas Polska involves building and maintaining the Rhino gaming platform, a system of 230+ microservices. Responsibilities include designing and developing platform architecture for business-critical systems, writing unit tests, updating documentation, participating in architectural discussions, collaborating with various teams, and contributing to the platform's development decisions. The team is responsible for building payment gateway solutions and integrations with global providers for efficient monetary transactions.

ABOUT THE ROLE
 
You will be a part of the platform domain which is the foundation of LeoVegas. Contributing to build the best solutions possible to create the best iGaming experience. You will be involved in building tooling for the developer pipeline delivering more streamlined and secure flows. 
Join our Payments Team, responsible for building payments gateway solutions, as well as robust and fast integrations with global payment providers to handle monetary transfers in and out of our platform. 
 
 
YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
 
  • Developing a multi-brand gaming platform called Rhino, built on 230+ microservices.
  • Design and develop the platform architecture that supports our business-critical systems.
  • Testing (unit tests) and updating documentation.
  • Participating in architectural discussions and suggesting ideas for technical improvements.
  • Collaborate with other developers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure that our platform meets the needs of our business.
  • Take part in the decision-making process on building our platform (yes, we will be listening to your advice as we trust you are an expert in what you do). 

OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

ESSENTIAL SKILLS
  • Min. 4 years of experience in using Java + Spring Boot framework
  • Experience with MySQL and Kafka
  • Familiarity with microservice architecture
  • Being not only a developer but primarily a software engineer - you love taking ownership of delivered solutions from their design to implementation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating technical decisions and offering valuable recommendations to the team 
  • Fluent English (C1 level is a minimum, as we communicate mostly in English)
 
NICE TO HAVES
  • Experience with Kotlin
  • Experience in building applications for payments industry
