Business Development Specialist

Onward Search is a specialized staffing and talent solutions company that helps professionals find top jobs with the nation’s leading brands. We are currently seeking a Business Development Specialist for an exciting temporary opportunity with a prestigious international law firm.

About the Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Business Development professional to support key initiatives within the firm’s capital markets, public companies, funds, and real estate practice groups. As a Business Development Specialist, you will assist with a variety of critical tasks, including proposals, marketing collateral, event planning, directory submissions, and knowledge management. This hybrid-remote role requires you to collaborate closely with attorneys and stakeholders, reporting directly to the Business Development Manager. You’ll also ensure the accuracy of the work submitted by 2 coordinators on your team.

Key Responsibilities

• Update and maintain marketing materials, attorney biographies, and capabilities decks.

• Manage logistics for client-facing events, such as CLEs, seminars, and conferences.

• Assist with proposals, rankings, and directory submissions (Chambers, IFLR, league tables).

• Maintain content and experience management systems, tracking pitch and proposal activity.

• Utilize tools such as NEXL, iManage, RubyLaw, and Microsoft Office to manage workflow and submissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.

• 3+ years of business development experience in a specialist-level role within a law firm.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), iManage, and RubyLaw (training available for NEXL).

• Strong communication, organizational, and event management skills.

• Experience managing events, proposals, and directory submissions in a collaborative environment.

• Competitive pay with 35-37.5 hours per week.

• A 6-month temporary assignment with potential for conversion to a permanent role.
