Job Description

The Data Engineer will be responsible for database DevOps and management, including designing complex data models, administering PostgreSQL databases, and optimizing database performance. They will also handle IoT data processing, developing and maintaining data transformation scripts and implementing scalable data processing pipelines. Additionally, the role involves system architecture and development, maintaining and optimizing AWS Lambda functions, and collaborating with external developers. Furthermore, the Data Engineer will be involved in data governance and quality, implementing systems to monitor data quality and performance, and ensuring data consistency and reliability. The role requires a strong understanding of SQL and PostgreSQL, experience with Python and AWS, and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
Must have:
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with AWS, especially Lambda
  • CI/CD Pipeline Knowledge
  • Understanding IoT architectures and data processing
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of Snowflake & DBT, Kafka would be desirable

Your mission will be…  
  • Database DevOps and Management
    • Design and build complex data models
    • Administrator of a productive PostgreSQL database
    • Data modelling and restructuring of new and old systems
    • Optimize and scale database performance
    • Design and implementation of new functions (data catalog, monitoring systems)
    • Maintenance and implementation of DevOps solutions, e.g. versioning, CI/CD
  • IoT Data Processing
    • Development and maintenance of data transformation scripts for cloud and on-premise solutions
    • Implement scalable IoT data processing pipelines
    • Integration of new data sources
    • Ensuring data quality and monitoring
  • System Architecture & Development
    • Maintaining and Optimizing AWS Lambda Functions
    • Collaborate with external developers on connectivity solutions
    • Data Engineering for Dashboard Development
  • Data Governance & Quality
    • Development and maintenance of a data quality solution in close cooperation with central IT
    • Implement systems to monitor data quality and performance
    • Managing Data Archiving Processes
    • Ensure data consistency and reliability

We are looking for...
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with AWS, especially Lambda
  • CI/CD Pipeline Knowledge
  • Understanding IoT architectures and data processing
  • Knowledge of Snowflake & DBT, Kafka would be desirable
  • Soft Competences:
    • Initiative and curiosity about IoT data environments
    • Strong interest in data automation
    • Ability to act as a sparring partner for technical discussions
    • Excellent communication skills with stakeholders
    • Independent working style
