Scopely is seeking a creative and impact-driven Data Scientist to influence live game experiences and monetization strategies. The role involves partnering with Game and Product teams to solve complex business problems using data, designing experiments for LiveOps strategies, developing predictive models, analyzing large-scale datasets, and integrating solutions into production pipelines. The Data Scientist will also contribute to data product roadmaps and present results to technical and non-technical stakeholders. The candidate must be able to explain complex technical topics to non-technical audiences. The LiveOps Automation team are responsible for building a sophisticated suite of LiveOps tools driven by Machine Learning (ML) for enhancing player experience within Midcore games. This initiative will implicitly change how Midcore manages its games in perpetuity.
Must have:
  • 3+ years of experience with statistical or machine learning models.
  • Strong understanding of experimentation frameworks and causal inference.
  • Strong Python skills and familiarity with scientific computing packages.
  • Experience working with large-scale data warehouses and SQL.
  • Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative mindset and eagerness to contribute to a fast-moving team.
  • Desire to take user feedback and drive world-class application development.
  • A love for games
Good to have:
  • Experience in personalization, recommendation, churn, or pricing models.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data ecosystems (e.g., GCP, AWS).
  • Knowledge of Looker, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools.
  • Exposure to gaming, e-commerce, or mobile app data environments.
  • Experience mentoring junior analysts or data scientists.

Scopely is looking for a Data Scientist to join our LiveOps Automation team within our Midcore division in Spain on a hybrid or remote basis.

The LiveOps Automation team are responsible for building a sophisticated suite of LiveOps tools driven by Machine Learning (ML) for enhancing player experience within Midcore games. This initiative will implicitly change how Midcore manages its games in perpetuity. 

What You Will Do

We’re seeking a creative and impact-driven Data Scientist who can combine rigorous analytical skills with product intuition to influence live game experiences and monetization strategies.

  • Partner with Game and Product teams to frame and answer complex business problems using data.
  • Design and evaluate experiments that drive the evolution of our LiveOps strategies.
  • Develop, test, and deploy predictive models and decision systems that power personalization, pricing, and content targeting.
  • Explore and analyze large-scale behavioral datasets to generate actionable insights.
  • Work closely with ML and Data Engineers to integrate data science solutions into production pipelines.
  • Contribute to the roadmap for data products and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Present results and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience applying statistical or machine learning models in business contexts.
  • Solid understanding of experimentation frameworks (A/B testing, uplift modeling) and causal inference techniques.
  • Strong Python skills and familiarity with scientific computing packages (Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn, etc.).
  • Experience working with large-scale data warehouses and writing performant SQL.
  • Strong communication skills: be able to explain complex technical topics to non-technical audiences.
  • A collaborative mindset and an eagerness to contribute to a fast-moving, multi-disciplinary team.
  • You desire to seek out and take on user feedback to drive world-class application development.
  • You love games

Bonus Points
