Job Description

Quince is seeking an EMEA Sourcing Director to develop and execute category supply chain strategies, including multi-sourcing for apparel and home categories within the EMEA region. The role involves onboarding and coaching manufacturing partners on Quince's innovative model, focusing on operational excellence, rapid replenishment, and financial model adherence. Key responsibilities include catalog expansion, driving high-quality and fast delivery metrics, and conducting quarterly business reviews. The ideal candidate will have a strong supply chain background, manufacturing experience, and deep knowledge of key materials localized in the EMEA region, with a preference for candidates with experience in Turkey, Egypt, Morocco, Italy, Romania, Portugal, and Poland.
Must have:
  • 15+ years of Strategic Sourcing or Procurement experience
  • Deep partner factory connections in EMEA (Apparel/Home)
  • GM mindset with supply chain and manufacturing experience
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and data-driven decision-making abilities
Good to have:
  • Experience leveraging factories/vendor expertise for product design and cost engineering
  • Knowledge of key materials localized in the EMEA region
  • Lean/JIT manufacturing experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Quince is a retail and technology company co-founded by a team that has extensive experience in retail, technology and building early stage companies. You’ll work with a team of world-class talent from Stanford GSB, Wish.com, D.E. Shaw, Stitch Fix, Urban Outfitters, Wayfair, McKinsey, Nike etc.

At Quince, we believe that our Manufacturing Partners are critical members of the Quince team and we take a partnership approach that involves:

  • Scouting - Identifying and building relationships with high-quality partners that want to run Quince's innovative model;
  • Drafting - Helping with potential partners understand Quince's model and ensuring that the supply chain economics support radical pricing for our consumers while maintaining Quince's expectations on Quality and Ethics;
  • Training Camp - Training our partners in the Quince offense, setting mutual goals and readying them to run the Quince offense;
  • Game Day - Executing the Manufacturer to Consumer (M2C) Quince model of rapid replenishment to ensure availability of high-quality products to consumers while managing inventory and cash flows;
  • Post-Season - Reviewing performance with our partners and continuing to improve on the M2C model.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND YEAR 1 PERFORMANCE DELIVERABLES

  • Develop and execute category supply chain strategy, including multi-sourcing for the apparel/ home category.
  • Onboard partners onto the Quince model and coach them to operate in a rapid replenishment, M2C environment;
  • Coach partners on Quince OS - Operational (Rapid LT, consumer-oriented), Financial Model (high ROIC) and Technical (Vendor Portal)
  • Catalog Expansion: In conjunction with Merchants and PD, launch NPC-approved new styles and colors
  • Drive Operational Excellence: High Quality (<0.5% defect), Fast and accurate (Replenishment Lead Time < 14 days), Available (>99% in-stock) and Margin Accretive performance
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with management of each partner - Strategy, Business Highlights, Performance, Areas for improvement.

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • 15+ years of Strategic Sourcing or Procurement, or Supplier Management experience operating with major US-based retailers.
  • Deep set of partner factory connections within Apparel/Home category across the EMEA region (primarily Turkey, but also Egypt, Morocco, Italy, Romania, Portugal, Poland, etc)
  • Product obsessed with experience in leveraging factories/vendor expertise to design, cost engineer, and bring products to market. With a thorough Knowledge of Key Material localised in the region
  • GM mindset with a supply chain background and manufacturing (lean/ JIT) experience
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and analytical with focus on execution, problem- solving, improving processes and brand enhancement.
  • Continuous learner and highly curious; always open to considering new perspectives; proactive when changing course and facing added challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.
