As a Merchandise Planner, you will play a key role in the success of our merchandise business. You will work closely with both Product Development and Inventory Management to develop and implement product strategies that drive sales and maximize profitability through our global assortment planning. You will be responsible for optimizing product inventory levels to meet customer demand and achieve sales targets. Your strong analytical skills and strategic mindset will be essential in assessing market trends and identifying opportunities for growth. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of retail operations and possess excellent communication skills to collaborate with our cross-functional team.
Responsibilities:
Assist in developing and executing merchandise sales plans and strategies to achieve goals.
Collaborate with cross-functional team, including product development, licensing, wholesale and retail teams to ensure effective product assortments and promotional campaigns for all stage and ticketed live events productions.
Monitor sales performance and manage inventory levels to ensure appropriate levels of stock availability.
Analyze sales data to identify areas of product improvement and assortment optimization.
Assist in negotiating with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing.
Create and implement product planning strategies to properly stay in stock of all self-produced and wholesale items.
Analyze historical trends to make forecasting recommendations for new products and assortments moving forward.
Analyze viability of new products in conjunction with retail teams, licensed partners and finance.
Monitor product performance and recommend pricing changes as needed.
Manage inventory levels and monitor sell-through rates to minimize out of stock or overstock.
Utilize planning systems and tools to track product performance and make data driven recommendations.
Stay up to date with market trends and competitive landscape and identify sales trends, competitive insights, and potential risks and opportunities.
Participate in trade show and industry events to stay current with trends and source potential new suppliers or business opportunities.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years in a product planning or inventory management role.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other planning software.
Knowledge of retail math and understanding of financial planning concepts.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong data interpretation skills to make sound business recommendations.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven record of working successfully in cross-functional teams.
Understanding of retail operations and supply chain management.
Demonstrated passion for merchandise and staying current on industry trends and best practices.
