General laborers are responsible for safely handling lumber products, ensuring materials meet customer requirements and company standards. Key duties include moving and securing lumber and other materials, stacking finished products, labeling materials with specifications like type, size, and count, and applying individual tags before/after production. They will use and troubleshoot staple guns, band, bundle, and secure materials, and load stick. Adherence to proper stacking procedures, ensuring correct quantities and labeling before leaving the work area, and maintaining accurate inventory are also crucial. The role involves recording production, maintaining a clean workspace, assisting with material movement and loading/unloading carts, and participating in safety and continuous improvement programs. A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required, and no minimum experience is necessary, though manufacturing or lumber experience is advantageous. Basic math skills are preferred, and candidates must be at least 18 years old.
