Job Details

About Us:

Exient is a leading video game developer and publisher with over 25 years of experience. Our portfolio includes a diverse range of games across mobile, PC, console, and handheld platforms, with popular titles such as Lemmings, Angry Birds Transformers, F1, Madden, FIFA, and many more.

Located in both Malta and the UK, our team consists of over forty talented individuals, representing a multicultural and hardworking group of friendly professionals.

Since our founding in 2000, we’ve had the privilege of collaborating with world-class partners like Activision, Disney, EA, Sony, Rovio, and Ubisoft, creating some truly memorable games together.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking passionate, talented, and driven individuals who are excited about the future of gaming to join our expanding team.

About the role

We are looking to recruit a Product Manager to help drive the vision, development, and live operations of our games. In this role, you’ll own the product strategy of our internal products while working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional player experiences.

You’ll serve as the linchpin between creative, technical, and business teams — ensuring our games not only engage and delight players but also meet commercial objectives. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in both high-level planning and day-to-day agile execution, and who brings expert knowledge of the video game industry to every phase of development.

Responsibilities include

  • Maintaining the internal product roadmap and feature set for live game titles, based on player needs, business goals, and market trends.
  • Owning and prioritising the backlog, writing user stories, and leading sprint planning and ensuring the team has a well-groomed backlog at all times.
  • Collaborate with production, game designers, engineers, artists, and QA to ensure timely, high-quality releases.
  • Oversee content updates, live events, and feature rollouts.
  • Coordinate with design and analytics teams on monetisation strategies and feature reviews to iterate rapidly based on player behavior and feedback.
  • Design and evaluate A/B tests to optimise features, player engagement, and monetisation strategies based on data-driven insights.
  • Work with the player support and community team to gather insights and act as the voice of the player internally, balancing business needs with user satisfaction.
  • Track KPIs like retention, engagement, monetisation, and continuously optimise features and systems.
  • Translate creative vision into actionable product goals, prioritising gameplay experience and commercial success.
  • Staying ahead of market trends, conducting competitive analysis, and using feedback to inform product direction.
  • Leading concept testing efforts to visualise and iterate on new product concepts.
  • Working closely with production to evaluate internal processes and researching external tools to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.

Required

  • 3+ years’ experience in product management roles within the video game development industry.
  • Experience with F2P (free-to-play) games, live operations, or GaaS (Games-as-a-Service).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and levels of the organisation.
  • In-depth knowledge of Exient’s existing products and the gaming market landscape.
  • Demonstrated expertise in roadmap planning, product vision setting, and strategic decision-making.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret KPIs and derive actionable insights.
  • Deep understanding of game development pipelines and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Proven track record of managing feature development, launches, or live services in a game environment.
  • Deep knowledge of the mobile gaming market — and a genuine passion for games.
  • Experience using tools like Jira, Confluence, Unity, Unreal, and analytics platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative and problem-solving attitude.

The following would be considered a plus:

  • Technical literacy and the ability to collaborate closely with engineers.
  • Familiarity with game economy balancing, monetisation models, or player segmentation.
  • Product Owner certification or equivalent (e.g., CSPO).
  • Experience with market research tools such as SensorTower.
