Business Development Department is dedicated to fostering connections between Tencent and top-tier game developers worldwide, catering to a diverse network of over 100 global investment partners and developers. Our primary objective is to enhance Tencent's global presence in the internet ecosystem as well as gaming sector, identifying  business prospects and supporting investment partners in achieving sustainable growth. We are actively seeking exceptional talent globally to join our dynamic team. By building a strong global talent network, we aim to strengthen and expand Tencent's partnerships with more partners worldwide while nurturing high-quality games for the market.

As a Strategic Investment Manager, you will:

  • Monitor domestic and global game market. Identify emerging industry/technology trends.

  • Follow key new trends in global gaming market and identify the next big opportunity within the market and provide thoughtful recommendations to management team

  • Stay close to the gaming ecosystem, have close dialogue with developers and founders in both the PC/Console and mobile markets

  • Evaluate global gaming investment and strategic partnership opportunities, support decision-makings for executives and leaders of business groups

  • Familiarize with the deal execution process: prepare investment memos, modeling, analysis plus negotiate and execute on potential transactions and partnership agreements while working cross-functionally internally with management, finance, legal, and product teams.

Requirements:

  • MBA, Master of Finance/Business or relevant studies

  • Graduate in 2024/2025

  • 2- 3 years of work experience in video game/entertainment/strategy consulting/investment banking, PE/VC or related Internet industry.

  • Demonstrate strategic visions, business insights and in-depth knowledge of the gaming/media/entertainment industry, and other related markets.

  • Ability in interpretation of data and identify emerging market trends and business opportunities.

  • Must be a self-starter, comfortable with uncertainty, and ability to drive to answers through disciplined work, while also collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Are effective team players with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Exceptional proficiency with MS Excel & PowerPoint; working knowledge of statistics and analysis packages.

  • Fluent in English and Mandarin to interact with stakeholders in different regions.

  • Have an entrepreneurial spirit.
