Job Summary:

The Director, Strategy & Operations will play a pivotal role in supporting the Americas, consumer products licensed business. This role will report directly into the Senior Vice President of The Americas and will be responsible for working with the Americas leadership team and functional partners to establish key strategic priorities, identify, evaluate, and pursue opportunities and develop processes with a focus on efficiencies. This role carries significant responsibility for understanding, articulating, and executing The Americas strategic goals and initiatives while serving as a trusted advisor to the head of the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Vice President of The Americas in facilitating the execution of priorities through coordination, communications, and detailed project management

  • Set direction and drive creative solutions to ensure business objectives align with the strategic vision in conjunction with the Americas leadership team

  • Lead operational integrations, activations, solutions, and strategic initiatives

  • Proactively identify and evaluate strategic, operational, and other opportunities in collaboration with key leaders and stakeholders across DCP, and The Walt Disney Company

  • Coordinate initiatives and tracks results to achieve strategic objectives

  • Drive strategy into action through the long-term planning process with the Americas leadership team and functional partners

  • Oversee the deployment of select transformational initiatives

  • Establish process to unlock greater efficiencies to enable the organization to focus on driving the business

  • Collaborate on multiple projects at any one time, set and meet deliverable dates, and communicate roadblocks and risks in a timely manner; put in place contingencies for unexpected events

  • Follow-up as needed on strategic opportunities and initiatives to ensure appropriate operationalization and execution

  • Create a workplace environment that encourages collaboration and innovative/creative thinking

 

Job requirements:

The following experience is required for consideration for this role:

  • 10 years of progressively complex client management experience, with a proven track record of directing teams towards successfully executing strategies and programs

  • Deep project management/consulting experience

  • Experience in a matrixed organization working with multiple leadership teams and stakeholders

  • Experience working with executive-level contributors and stakeholders, including excellent executive level presentation skills

  • Experience working in a retail/brand organization

  • Demonstrated versatility and adaptability to work across a broad variety of functions

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

  • Operates effectively through ambiguity, navigating unclear goals, objectives, or tasks

  • Quickly assimilates information, identifies themes, and aggregates information from disparate sources into a coherent story

  • Works under tight timetables, in high-pressure situations, and adapts to priority changes

  • Focuses on developing creative solutions with a nimble business mindset

  • Comfortably communicates with executives (VPs, SVPs, EVPs) in presentations, working sessions, and 1-on-1 interactions

  • Proficient in keynote and PowerPoint, is creatively minded and able to design best in class presentations

Additional information:

This position is based in Glendale, CA.


The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $182,700 to $245,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
