The Principal Sales Engineer will focus on expanding relationships with existing customers in the transportation industry while providing further revenue opportunities. This role involves understanding customer needs, positioning Cerence innovations, and leading solution definitions. The engineer will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, design presentations, and provide product demos. The candidate should have experience in the automotive industry and software development, with excellent communication skills in Japanese and English. Must have:
  • Experience in software development

  • 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry
  • Customer-facing experience with a customer-focused approach
  • High proficiency in oral and written communication/presentation skills in Japanese and English

  • Experiences with speech solutions

  • A Moving Experience.
    We have an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious, solution-orientated salesperson with a strong technical background to join our expanding team. The role will focus on expanding our relationships with existing customers in the transportation industry whilst providing further revenue opportunities through pre-sales solution consultancy and compelling sales solutions. You will become an expert in our futuristic Gen AI driven product range which shapes the way our customers enable advanced AI-powered mobility solutions for the transportation space.
     
  • Responsibilities
    • Work directly with our customers (OEM’s, Tier 1’s) primarily in the automotive industry and adjacent markets such as 2-wheeler or trucks, also on-site, to understand their business needs, value drivers and technical requirements
    • Position Cerence innovations, products, solutions, and services accordingly
    • Lead and manage:
      • Solution definitions
      • RFQ / RFI responses
      • Effort and cost estimates
      • Creation of statements of work
    • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders from account management, professional services and engineering organizations, as well as external stakeholders from customer side
    • Design and provide presentations to customers, selling value propositions and solutions based on the corresponding technical setup
    • Present product and solution demos to customers
       
  • Requirements
    • University bachelor’s degree with engineering context (masters is a plus)
    • Experience in software development
    • Familiarity with infotainment and software as a service
    • 5 years + experiences in the automotive industry (OEM’s, Tier 1’s)
    • Customer-facing experience, customer focused approach
    • High proficiency in oral and written communication/presentation skills in Japanese and English
    • Willingness to travel
    • Strong team-player, self-motivated
    • Proficient computer user
    • Experiences with speech solutions are a plus but not a requirement
