Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer to join their team in Denver, Colorado. This role is expected to begin in June 2025. The Civil Engineer will build analytic and design skills, conduct engineering design under supervision, and create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and working drawings. Responsibilities include collecting and analyzing data, using computer software for engineering problems, performing work within budget and schedule, site grading, surface modeling, earthwork analysis using Autodesk Civil 3D, creating horizontal and vertical alignments for infrastructure, and preparing calculation packages for quantities and capacities.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License
Good to have:
  • Experience in AutoCAD Civil3D (2022 and later)
  • EIT Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Heavy site grading and earthwork 3D modeling using AutoCAD Civil3D
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment

Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer to be based in Denver, Colorado. 

This position is expected to begin in June 2025.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Builds analytic and design skills.
  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
  • Site grading, simple surface modeling, performing earthwork analysis and designs using Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Creating horizontal and vertical alignments for roadways, pipelines and drainage facilities in Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Civil/Site- Site development, access and haul roads, borrow areas, drainage channels, and surface drainage.
  • Prepare calculation packages for earthwork quantities, storage capacity, and material take-offs.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university+ None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in AutoCAD Civil3D (2022 and later).
  • EIT Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Heavy site grading and earthwork 3D modeling using AutoCAD Civil3D.
