Role Title: Department Manager
(BMO – Technology)
Location: Mumbai
Key Responsibilities:
● Global Timesheet Management:
Oversee timesheet submissions and approvals for all team members under matrix management across global locations. Coordinate leave approvals with supervisors, send timely reminders for timesheet and planned leave submissions, and ensure accurate tracking and compliance.
● Departmental Operations:
Responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the Technology department in collaboration with Product, Core, IMS, Research, and Pipeline leadership teams. Act as a primary point of contact for departmental support, ensuring seamless communication and coordination across internal teams.
● Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with senior staff, Managers, and Heads of Departments (HoDs) across HR, Recruiting, Facilities, and Training to represent and support the interests of the local Technology team.
● Operational Support:
Provide dedicated and consistent support across the Technology department, addressing operational needs as they arise and ensuring smooth workflows between various internal stakeholders.
● Team & Culture Building:
Lead efforts to create and nurture a positive, collaborative culture within the department. Organize and coordinate team-building activities, promote engagement, and support team members in achieving their full potential.
● People Management & Onboarding:
Liaise with the India HR team for hiring activities, facilitate onboarding processes including welcome emails, Zoom/WhatsApp group additions, system arrangements, and integration into the team.
Conduct post-probation review processes in coordination with supervisors and HR.
● Exit Coordination:
Track resignations and last working days, ensure timely collection of company assets, and maintain accurate records.
● Time & Leave Management:
Oversee global timesheet submissions and approvals for team members under matrix management. Coordinate leave approvals with supervisors and issue reminders for timesheet submissions and planned leave requests.
● Issue Resolution:
Act as a first point of contact for team issues, directing them to the appropriate teams or departments and ensuring timely resolution.
● Meetings & Reporting:
Track and report departmental progress. Organize, chair, and contribute to meetings with Technology Leadership and interface with other departments to ensure alignment.
● Maintain Department Records & Conduct Audits:
Maintain comprehensive department records and documentation. Conduct quarterly audits to ensure process adherence, data accuracy, and operational compliance.
