Role Description:
The DataScope suite of applications is part of our Pricing and Reference Service business. It is a respected application used in the wider finance industry where clients can download both market data in bulk form or in customized reports. The application has 4k+ external clients who consume financial data to analyse funds and the market position of global industry players.
To help us build functional systems that improve the customer experience, we’re looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer responsible for maintaining the build pipeline and adding new features to enable the deployment of product updates, troubleshooting and fixing any issues. Must have significant prior experience in automating infrastructure provision, configuration management and scaling.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering and be familiar with Infrastructure as Code, experienced with cloud technologies (preferably Azure), and will work with developers and engineers to ensure that software development follows established processes and works as intended.
Candidate Profile / Key Skills:
Tech Profile/Required Skills
Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Python, and potentially other languages used within the development stack.
Expertise in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI), configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet), and container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).
Familiarity with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their associated services.
Understanding of Linux/Unix and Windows system administration principles
Good knowledge of network protocols and security best practices
Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
Experience:
5+ Years Experience as a DevOps engineer with proven design and implementation experience of enterprise-scale CI/CD pipelines, with much of this experience in Azure
2+ years of experience in scripting languages like Bash, Python, and potentially other languages used within the development stack
Excellent experience of shell scripting.
Experience with automation software (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible).
Experience in moving on-premises application to the Cloud (AWS or Azure)
Experience with Agile Project management or Highly Iterative Project Methodology experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.

Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and scaling using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
Set up comprehensive monitoring systems to track application performance, identify potential issues, and trigger alerts for timely resolution.

Liaising with team members, management, and clients to ensure projects are completed to standard.
Keeping up to date with industry trends and developments.
Contribute to the writing of documentation and release notes in conformance with company standards.
