Job Description

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) role involves maintaining and growing client accounts by understanding their business needs and aligning technology solutions. Responsibilities include conducting technical consultations, providing IT strategy recommendations, designing scopes of work, leading client meetings, and acting as a trusted advisor. The TAM will also provide coaching, stay current with industry trends, and maintain client relationships. The role requires strong communication and collaboration skills to work with internal teams and clients.
Must have:
  • Prior experience in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment is required.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft enterprise platforms and IT infrastructure is required.
  • Must be confident, client-facing, and able to clearly explain technical solutions.
  • Experience in IT consulting, IT project engineering, helpdesk or IT team management, or technical sales within an MSP.
Good to have:
  • Certifications (Net+, Microsoft, Cloud, Firewall) and experience with Security Solutions are a strong plus.
  • Ability to build technology roadmaps, review environments, and recommend infrastructure and security improvements.
  • Strategic mindset, capable of long-term account planning and identifying growth opportunities.

We are currently looking for an IT Technical Account Manager (TAM). We have 1 open position. Please apply and we can discuss!

Location: Denver, CO (Hybrid)
Salary: $100,000 – $115,000 base (depending on experience) + commission structure
Benefits: Full benefits
Type: Contract to Hire
Sponsorship Available: No – Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

 

Most Important:

  • Prior experience working in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment is required

  • This is a technical consulting role (commonly referred to as vCIO) 

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft enterprise platforms and general IT infrastructure is required

  • Must be confident, client-facing, and able to clearly explain technical solutions in business terms

  • Primary focus is on maintaining and growing client accounts by understanding their business, aligning technology to their needs, and earning trust through ongoing consultation

  • Excellent communication skills are critical — will be the key liaison between clients and the technical team

Qualifications:

  • Experience in IT consulting, IT project engineering, helpdesk or IT team management, or technical sales within an MSP

  • Ability to build technology roadmaps, review environments, and recommend infrastructure and security improvements

  • Must be able to deliver clear technical recommendations based on the client’s business and regulatory needs

  • Strong collaboration skills to work with engineers, project managers, and account teams

  • Certifications (Net+, Microsoft, Cloud, Firewall) and experience with Security Solutions are a strong plus

  • Strategic mindset, capable of long-term account planning, identifying growth opportunities, and managing multiple client relationships effectively

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quarterly, high-level technical consultations with assigned clients

  • Provide IT strategy recommendations and assist in building long-term technology roadmaps

  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams to support delivery and execution of services

  • Design scopes of work for infrastructure upgrades, implementations, and managed services

  • Lead client meetings and strategic sessions to support client satisfaction and account growth

  • Act as a trusted advisor by maintaining strong, proactive client relationships and staying attuned to their evolving needs

  • Provide coaching and direction to IT engineers supporting various accounts

  • Maintain a deep understanding of market trends, vertical-specific compliance, and IT standards

  • Stay current on new technologies and continuously expand IT industry knowledge
