Job Description

The MRO Product Performance team supports business operations by integrating operational knowledge into design processes, analyzing data, developing algorithms, and maintaining the health of overhauled engines. The role involves test cell correlation, data analysis, customer interface, algorithm development, and collaboration with other teams. This position requires the candidate to perform test cell correlation and activations, work with various engine programs, manage test cell certifications for overhaul network test facilities, ensuring the health of MRO test cells facilities, assisting new test facility stand-ups and coordinate with other groups to ensure Rolls-Royce requirements are met and functionally sound, developing trending algorithms and tools to detect and predict imminent test cell and engine issues and maintaining customer pass-off Data Reduction Programs provided to the MROs and collaborating with other Performance engineering groups, developing good knowledge management practices.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology
  • 1+ years of experience in mechanical/gas turbine engineering
  • US Citizen
  • Ability to travel both domestic and international
Good to have:
  • Experience working with engine test cell facilities, test cell correlations
  • Performance engineering experience, preferably with gas turbine engines
  • Experience with Python, SQL, FORTRAN, JMP, NPSS, Matlab and/or VBA programming
  • Technical experience working with a various engine types especially with Rolls-Royce engines such as AE 1107, AE 2100, AE 3007, T56, 501, and Model 250 engines
  • Experience presenting to internal and external audiences on critical topics

The MRO Product Performance team supports the business operations by integrating operational knowledge into our design processes at the system level, performing pass-off data analysis and test cell correlations, developing system algorithms/modeling and techniques to measure and maintain the health of overhauled/repaired engines and MRO test cells.

What you will be doing

With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to be involved in:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Performing test cell correlation and activations, working with various engine programs and the business to manage test cell certifications for overhaul network test facilities, collaborating with the Contracts, Export Control, Shipping, Test Engineering, and other groups to meet tight and fluid deadlines.

  • Ensuring the health of MRO test cells facilities, by supporting the customers through data analysis and aggregation, designing and developing trending tools, performing pass-off analysis, coordinating with the overhaul facilities to address any anomalies observed in the test data.

  • Acting as a Rolls-Royce customer technical interface to the overhaul network, assisting new test facility stand-ups and coordinate with other groups to ensure Rolls-Royce requirements are met and functionally sound

  • Developing trending algorithms and tools to detect and predict imminent test cell and engine issues and maintaining customer pass-off Data Reduction Programs provided to the MROs and collaborating with other Performance engineering groups

  • Collaborating with other Integrated Product Teams and the Engineering Capability to use best practices and develop good knowledge management practices.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology and 1+ years of experience in mechanical/gas turbine engineering, or

  • Master's Degree in in Engineering

  • To be considered for this opportunity you must be a US Citizen

  • Have the ability to travel both domestic and international

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience working with engine test cell facilities, test cell correlations, engine pass-off data analysis, EHM and software development

  • Performance engineering experience, preferably with gas turbine engines

  • Experience with Python, SQL, FORTRAN, JMP, NPSS, Matlab and/or VBA programming

  • Technical experience working with a various engine types especially with Rolls-Royce engines such as AE 1107, AE 2100, AE 3007, T56, 501, and Model 250 engines

  • Experience presenting to internal and external audiences on critical topics
