About the Role

We’re looking for a Staff Data Engineer to help architect and build our cloud-native, event-driven identity analytics platform hosted on AWS.
As a Staff-level engineer, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the technical direction of our data infrastructure, mentoring team members, and delivering robust, scalable solutions that power our SaaS products.
**THIS IS A HYBRID ROLE, candidate must be located in Austin, TX and willing to be onsite**
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement scalable, efficient data pipelines for batch and real-time processing using tools like DBT, Snowflake, Apache Flink, and Airflow.
- Design and deliver robust Java-based micro-services and Python-based EKS jobs for data transformation and feature engineering.
- Lead the development of real-time data ingestion and transformation systems.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, data science, and engineering teams to define and deliver impactful features.
- Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, design discussions, and mentoring.
- Ensure high code quality through comprehensive unit and integration testing.
- ·Contribute to observability and reliability practices, including monitoring, alerting, and on-call support.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead technical initiatives across teams.
- Influence long-term data strategy and architectural decisions.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional software/data engineering experience.
- Strong experience with Python, SQL, and object-oriented programming.
- Expertise in data engineering tools such as DBT, Snowflake, Airflow, and cloud-native data platforms.
- Proven experience in building and scaling big data applications with a focus on performance and observability.
- Hands-on experience with data frameworks like Pandas, Dask, or Polars.
- Experience deploying ML-based solutions from conception to production.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
- Deep understanding of AWS/GCP/Azure services including EKS, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Amazon SageMaker, AWS Bedrock, and model monitoring tools.
- Background in recommendation systems or real-time low-latency applications.
- Experience working closely with Data Science or AI/ML teams.
- Familiarity with cost optimization, schema design, and performance tuning in cloud data platforms.
