Job Description

The Account Executive (AE) will join the Consumer & Brand team to create outstanding work for clients, working within the travel, culture, F&B and lifestyle brands. The AE will work closely with Account Managers and Account Directors to develop earned-first work. The role requires strong media contacts, an understanding of the Australian media landscape, and the ability to support the team in program development, implementation, and reporting. The responsibilities include monitoring client business, developing relationships, preparing project plans, producing meeting reports, developing media lists, cultivating relationships with media and influencers, creating media releases, and supporting media and influencer events.

THE ROLE 

 
We’re looking for an AE to join our Consumer & Brand team and create standout work that will help make our clients famous. Working within our travel, culture, F&B and lifestyle portfolio of brands, you will be working with some of the biggest and well-known brands in the country. 

 
The AE works closely with Account Managers and Account Directors to create smart earned first work and tap into your media contacts and stellar understanding of the Australian media landscape to support the team in delivering the best quality work across client program development, implementation and reporting. 

 
For this role, you will need to demonstrate that you have your finger on the pulse and are up to date on all the latest media moves, trends in culture, travel and lifestyle. You will understand what makes a story great and have a growing list of media contacts and be keen to grow your network, proven through your experience working within an agency context.

Key Responsibilities 
Be the wow factor for clients 

  • Research and monitor clients’ business and industries to stay up to date on trends, developments and breaking issues, and in concert with senior managers, counsel client accordingly 

  • Develop and cultivate positive relationships with allocated clients 

  • Working with senior managers, prepare and regularly review and update detailed project/program plans including working timetables of activity and WIP docs 

  • Produce meeting reports, noting actions and ensuring appropriate interaction and follow up 

Bring your Black Book of media and influencer contacts 

  • Ensure accurate, relevant media distribution lists are developed and kept up to date 

  • Develop and cultivate a wide range of relationships across mainstream and specialist media relevant to client base 

  • Bring your creativity, developing unique, relevant and newsworthy story angles 

  • Cultivate strong relationships with social influencers relevant to client base 

  • Develop high quality media releases, pitches and materials, including research, writing, editing, collating and distributing through relevant social media channels 

  • Ensure media are proactively followed up to achieve agreed KPIs, cultivating a positive client presence 

  • Monitor and report on client and industry media activity ensuring media coverage is provided in the best quality and as quickly as possible 

  • Work with targeted media and influencers on story/content development 

  • Respond to and follow up media enquiries in a timely, efficient and professional manner 

  • Support with media and influencer events including conferences, briefings, tours and activations 

  • Keeping coverage trackers up to date with PR coverage across product, corporate and consumer/lifestyle and assist the team with reporting duties 

Be an event manager extraordinaire 

  • Support on events including research, venue, catering, talent selection and management, theming and decoration and speaker briefs  

  • Support with guest list management, invitations and RSVPs 

Be a culture driver 

  • Be a driving force for culture within the agency; share your knowledge of culture, trends and audiences to fuel culturally meaningful ideas and insights 

  • Be a force for positive and approachable creativity, contribute creatively to projects, new business and campaign development 

  • Bring ideas to the table that will push the creative team, the wider agency and our clients into tomorrow 

Be a dynamo part of the Consumer and Brand and wider HAVAS Red team 

  • Participate as an active and interested team member, providing support to colleagues and taking every opportunity presented to learn and develop 

  • Participate in brainstorms to generate media strategies and story ideas

The Basics 

  • A degree in Communications, Public Relations or Journalism (or similar) would be great (but not mandatory) 

  • Experience and contacts within the Australian media, with key relationships across news, lifestyle, luxury, food and beverage and travel 

  • A minimum one year full-time in agency or similar experience and proven proficiency to perform tasks required to a high standard
