The Role
Come join a team of experts building the systems that improve and perfect quality at Tesla.
We are looking for a motivated data scientist / data engineer that is capable of designing and developing value-add data-driven applications. You will be designing and building highly-scalable and performant applications that will deliver functionality to our engineers to enable them to deliver the best quality.
- Work with large, complex data sets. Solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems, applying advanced analytical methods as needed. Conduct analysis that includes data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, ongoing deliverables, and presentations
- Work with stakeholders to take a vague problem statement, refine the scope of the analysis, and use the results to drive informed decisions
- Identifying opportunities, designing solutions and providing software tools that increase manufacturing quality
- Build and prototype analysis pipelines iteratively to provide insights at scale
- Operate and support your production applications
- High proficiency in Python, SQL
- Strong foundation in statistics and machine learning
- Experience building machine learning models that provided company value
- Background in writing software in a professional environment, writing clean and tested code
- Worked with DevOps and CICD (Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins,…)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Clearly documenting your work is key
- Smart but humble, with a bias for action
Nice to have
- Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science/ Engineering or equivalent.
- Fullstack knowledge
- Familiarity with tools such as Airflow, Elastic Search
- Basic sysadmin capabilities
- Practical knowledge of Hadoop, Spark and with streaming and stream processing frameworks such kafka, mqtt, faust, spark streaming etc.
