Communications Specialist

We’re hiring a Communications Specialist to join one of the country's most respected healthcare organizations. This 12+ month contract role is hybrid and based in Rochester, MN.

As a Communications Specialist, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine. Acting as a strategic communications advisor, you will partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to craft compelling content, drive internal engagement, and elevate the department’s visibility. Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies aligned with departmental and institutional goals

• Plan, implement, and measure internal communication initiatives to support collaboration and operational priorities

• Craft clear, effective messaging for a variety of channels including digital platforms, internal newsletters, and leadership communications

• Collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to convey complex information in an engaging, accessible way

• Serve as a trusted communications partner, ensuring consistency and alignment across messaging

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, liberal arts, business, healthcare, or a related field

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a relevant communications role

• Proven ability to manage projects independently, think strategically, and adapt in a fast-paced environment

• Strong writing, editing, and digital communication skills

• Experience in media relations, internal engagement, and/or social media strategy is a plus
