The Senior Sales & Distribution Manger has an for understanding the market dynamics and audience profile for Sony Pictures India Networks. The role drives revenue growth and manages operations for the Americas by devising and executing sales, content, operations, and distribution strategy for a region as part of the network’s international business.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand and analyze trends in political and economic scenario in the territory, industry landscape, competitor activity, network growth plans and strength areas, evolving monetization / distribution models, etc.,
  • Develop the medium and long term distribution strategy for the region.
  • Review plans from Sales and Broadcast team and provide inputs based on market understanding
  • Present strategy to supervisor and update and finalize strategy for the region
  • Create an annual business plan for the region in alignment with the internal business plan and organizational strategy. Utilize the same to identify regional sales, content, distribution and operations plan
  • Ensure content on each channel in the region complies with local statutory norms
  • Liaison and negotiate with Distribution Partners (IPTV, Cable, DTH operators, OTT platforms, etc.) across the territory to drive monetization of content and increase consumer reach
  • Review maturing distribution deals, and negotiate with distribution partners for deal renewals basis network’s content/property portfolio
  • Support team on areas like placement of network’s channels, pricing negotiation, deal closures, contracts, etc., with various Distribution Partners
  • Supervise and support the team in troubleshooting or in case of any other support required from the Operations team
  • Review and finalize the annual sales plan as per the network’s sales and organizational strategy for the region and cascade it down to the Sales and the Marketing teams basis inputs from each territory
  • Identify emerging monetization models and draft action plans to boost revenues
  • Track sales achievement vs. plan on a periodic basis, and design and deploy action-plans, and provide support/ guidance to the team to exceed the sales plan target for the year
  • Co-ordinate with Regional Sales team /Channel Business Heads to ensure complete alignment between the teams to maximize revenue potential for the region
  • Support and guide the team by participating in meetings for key deals and devising newer ways to beat competition
  • Oversee plans for on-ground marketing and track implementation progress
  • Track network’s content and evaluate new properties / content identified by the broadcasting team; Add the relevant ones to the network’s portfolio to boost revenues
  • Oversee creation of local customized content and provide recommendation and troubleshoot, as required
  • Liaison with channel teams & broadcast operations teams in India for any escalations
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

8+ years of experience in handling television distribution business in the Americas

The anticipated base salary for this position is $115,000 – $140,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
