Senior Technical Product Manager - League Studios, League Data Central

As a Product Manager, you’ll lead passionate cross-functional teams to create innovative internal and external tools that unlock Riot’s ability to deliver player value. By leading engineers, you’ll drive development, smash through obstacles, and push projects across the finish-line. You’ll meet and exceed expectations by helping concept, deliver, enhance, and influence projects at every stage of production. You’ll do all of this in service of an ambitious transformation of Riot’s company infrastructure into a highly adaptable, efficient and effective machine that multiplies Riot’s ability to deliver player value.

League Data Central (LDC) is a team within League Studios accountable for decision science, data products, data capture, and data warehousing and governance for League Studio. Our mission is to harness the power of data for player-centric decisions and AI/ML products that make it better to be a player.

As the Senior Technical Product Manager for LDC, you will partner with game teams on executing data initiatives, focusing primarily on Teamfight Tactics (TFT) and Fight for the Golden Spatula (FFGS). Your expertise in data and product will inform the advancement of data capabilities, guiding decision-making and fostering product innovation in partnership with the TFT and FFGS game teams. You will report to the Director, Technical Product Management of LDC.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage the product roadmap for TFT and FFGS data products, aligning with game team needs and LDC's overall strategy
• Define data requirements for new TFT and FFGS features, ensuring data availability and quality
• Collaborate with Engineering (data engineers, software engineers, and machine learning engineers), Data Science (data scientists), and Production (product and delivery/program management) on LDC to align the product and technical plans
• Partner with the TFT and FFGS game teams to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable product requirements
• Validate requirements and designs for data-intensive projects, communicating technical tradeoffs to a non-technical audience
• Develop an understanding of and empathy for our development and data consumer customers, which you'll use to make player-focused decisions
• Build relationships with partner teams across Riot Games, particularly within the TFT and FFGS teams
• Analyze player data and identify opportunities to improve the player experience in TFT and FFGS
• Define and align OKRs, and KPIs with key partners, setting clear expectations for quantifiable impact and accountability. Secure buy-in from stakeholders through influence and partnership

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of 6 years of relevant data product experience
• A solid foundation in AI/ML, data analysis, experimental design, and their application in product development, supported by a technical bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent experience)
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Understanding of player/customer needs within complex audience segments and the ability to discern needs from wants
• Ability to clearly communicate complex topics to audiences with little-to-no context, conveying nuances effectively
• Experience leading and delivering successful analytics, data science, and machine learning projects
• Ability to understand and validate technical requirements and designs in the context of data projects

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience collaborating with platform and infrastructure teams
• A history of partnering with creative stakeholders and technical teams in gaming, media, or similar fields.
• Experience with Teamfight Tactics (TFT) and/or Fight for the Golden Spatula (FFGS).
