Job Description

Experian is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join their Product Development team. This role involves finding operational and cost efficiencies through automation and monitoring, as well as contributing to the tech strategy. The ideal candidate should be experienced in implementing high-performance solutions in the AWS cloud. Core responsibilities include implementing infrastructure as code solutions, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring solutions, managing infrastructure and application vulnerabilities, and collaborating with other engineers to ensure smooth deployment and operation of systems. The engineer will also troubleshoot and resolve issues, determine areas of inefficient resource utilization, and communicate status and risks to stakeholders. They will develop and adhere to policies and procedures.
Must have:
  • Manage AWS workloads, particularly ECS and EKS clusters.
  • Understand architectural principles such as high availability.
  • DevOps skillset including Terraform and Jenkins.
  • AWS optimization techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to innovate and show initiative.

Job Description

Experian are currently looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our growing Product Development team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a skilled and talented team of technical experts working in fast-paced environment.

Experian Marketing Services is in the midst of a transformation to become a product-led organisation and as such we are constantly looking for new ways to make our products more efficient, reliable, and deliver more value to our clients. In this role you will expected to find operational and cost efficiencies through automation and monitoring, and provide input into our tech strategy for the future.

The ideal candidate should be a self-motivated engineer with extensive experience implementing highly performance solutions in the AWS cloud.

Core responsibilities:

  • Delivery of high-quality infrastructure as code solutions and CI/CD pipelines
  • Implementation of monitoring solutions for client-facing products and internal data pipelines, including intelligent alarming for quicker incident detection and resolution
  • Track and manage infrastructure & application vulnerabilities
  • Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, data scientists and product managers to ensure smooth deployment and operation of systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across production and non-production environments, providing root cause analysis and designing solutions to prevent future occurrences
  • Determine areas of inefficient resource utilization and implement changes to ensure both platform stability and cost efficiency
  • Communicate status and risks to stakeholders
  • Development of and adherence to policies and procedures to ensure all work is executed to a high standard

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of managing AWS workloads, with particular focus on ECS and EKS clusters
  • Good understanding of key architectural principles such as high availability, disaster recovery and platform resiliency
  • DevOps skillset including Terraform and Jenkins
  • AWS optimisation techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to innovate and show initiative
