The company is seeking a Customer Project Manager to lead and manage client-facing projects from initiation to completion. This role involves understanding client requirements, translating them into actionable plans, and coordinating internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget. The Customer Project Manager will be responsible for client relationship management, project planning and execution, team coordination, risk management, quality assurance, and budget management. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Business or Project Management, proven project management experience in a customer-facing role, familiarity with project management tools, and strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Position Overview:

The Customer Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing client-facing projects from initiation through completion. They work closely with clients to understand their requirements, translate those needs into actionable plans, and coordinate the internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget. The CPM ensures customer satisfaction and manages expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Establish and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.
    • Understand customer needs and expectations and ensure they are met or exceeded.
    • Conduct regular meetings with clients to review project progress, milestones, and risks.
  • Project Planning & Execution:
    • Lead project planning sessions to define scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
    • Develop detailed project plans and timelines, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned.
    • Monitor and manage project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Team Coordination & Communication:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on customer requirements.
    • Lead project meetings and ensure that the team has the necessary resources to succeed.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Proactively address issues and bottlenecks that may arise during the project.
  • Quality Assurance & Delivery:
    • Ensure the project meets or exceeds customer expectations by monitoring quality assurance standards.
    • Manage the handoff of the final deliverable to the customer and ensure they are satisfied with the outcome.
  • Budget & Resource Management:
    • Create and manage project budgets, ensuring that costs stay within the allocated limits.
    • Track resource allocation and adjust as needed to ensure the project stays on track.
  • Post-Project Evaluation & Reporting:
    • Gather feedback from clients to ensure satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
    • Document lessons learned and contribute to improving the company’s project management processes.

    Skills & Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, or a related field. PMP or similar certification preferred.
    • Experience:
      • Proven experience in project management, preferably in a customer-facing role.
      • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana).
      • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
    • Skills:
      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage customer expectations.
      • Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
      • Strong organizational and time management skills.
      • Knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).

    As required by applicable Pay Transparency laws, Ookla provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The base pay for this position ranges from $80,000/year up to $117,000/year.
